Nah man, It was his wedding gift from her after they fucked in Rhea's room.

Gameplay doesn't let him take it from her on BL or GD. cool

Still the fact that Byleth has Aymr is implying this Byleth is Edelgard adjacent. How interesting.

Yeah when have I ever bullied anyone for their choice of route/Waifu?

There's an answer to this that you probably won't like, but it's better suited for private messages.

Gameplay trailer does show Byleth wielding the Sword of the Creator, so it's probably safe to assume they still have the Crest Stone.

Ahh, this is what people meant by the haggard feeling during Three Houses.

Speaking of which, Engage is set to dethrone it in pre-orders, it seems.

[up]"Haggard feeling" is a pretty good way to sum it up. Heck, the spoiler thread for the game has pretty much devolved into low effort posts because of said haggard feeling; a lot of the people who actually contributed constructively got burned out.

Regarding the bit about preorders, it's definitely nice to see more such a big number even if I rarely preorder games. I really am thankful for Sakurai Masahiro deciding to include Marth and Roy in Super Smash Bros. Melee and introducing the series to a larger audience in the West, even if it took a while for the series to really gain traction here.

[down]The low effort posts do make it so no acting is required. I'm not sure that's a good thing, but it is what it is.

Ehhh, internet gonna internet.

Long as there isn't any bullying, it's tolerated.

Besides, people here already making discourse about the designs.

Also acting like there's no one in the spoiler thread making anything constructive lately is a hilarious insult. tongue

[up][up]Even if Smash introduced the series to the West, it ironically didn't help much with it sales even in Japan. It took Awakening's existence to make it a breakthrough hit.

Awakening did a lot to simplify the formula and add in more fanservice and shipping that helped make the series more mainstream yeah.

As much as I love the Radiance games, they are kind of hard for average joe to get into.

They hurt no one, and are just for laughs.

Besides, YNK and certain other tropers like em enough.

No one said anything about rules? All I did was point out that they're not particularly constructive compared to other types of posts. They're kind of like large farts in the classroom, really; they make some kids laugh (except maybe the poor sap in the blast zone), but can't really be counted as being on the same level of constructiveness as what the hopefully competent teacher is teaching.

Though if I recall correctly, threads that basically devolve into shitposting do tend to get locked if the mods feel like no more constructive discussion can be had. But cases like that tend to indicate that interest in the thread have pretty much died out, so the lock is more like a cleanup of sorts.

Though I do think it's fair to say a lot of people who used to talk quite a bit about the setting of Three Houses feel like they've been burned out. It's probably not helped by the fact that the arguments tend to get circular, and it's not helped by certain bad faith arguments causing certain posters to not want to engage, and the same points coming back again and again and again.

If anything, it's probably a sign that that particular thread is on its last legs, which is understandable given a new game is coming out in a few months.

The fact that the thread is still going decently strong after 3 years of the game being out does mean the game is certainly something special. But I do enjoy our interactions, just letting that out.

Also I think it's kind of rude and cynical that you're saying that the thread hasn't had anything constructive lately.

But moving on.

So does anyone have good opinions on the Echoes DLC? I'm thinking of grabbing them before the shut down.

You'll probably want to at least grab the Cipher Companions DLC, as that gives you Emma, Randal, Yuzu, and Shade.

If you need to be picky over what you spend money on, you can probably skip the Lost Altars DLC if you aren't that interested in the classes they offer.

The Rise of the Deliverance DLC is probably one you will definitely want to get as a bundle, because $3.99 for a single map is kind of pricey. At least the bundle price of $12.99 will probably take out some of the sting to your wallet.

You do get new Memories, certain supports, and special items from them, so you might find them worth checking out.

Considering how irrelevant Claude and Dimitri are in the grand scheme of things, compared to Edelgard, Rhea, Byleth, and Thales, it does make sense.

SS doesn't really know what to do with them so they are defeated off-camera so Byleth stays the lead.

Well according to the devs, Intelligent Systems created Silver Snow and then left Koei Tecmo to flesh out the other routes and apparently Claude and Dimitri. So you could make a case that Claude and Dimitri are more Koei Tecmo’s babies than Edelgard and Rhea are.

(And Silver Snow’s final villains are Edelgard, Thales and Rhea.)

In a revamped Silver Snow(anime or route)that would include them all, we’d have Claude and Dimitri with Byleth except Byleth isn’t able to help them and just see them fall. We get to follow Dimitri’s journey until he gets put down at the Battle of Gronder with no redemption. Same with Claude except the Battle of Gronder should be what breaks Claude by losing most of his friends at the same battle and he gives up the fight. The ending should reveal that Claude settled down and is living a life of peace in a farm with his last friend, Marianne, who he married or something. Also there should be no chance of Rhea living. Go full tragedy and no romances for Byleth.

[up]x3 Apparently in the footage with Female Alear it's possible to see Balthus' relic, so there is a chance Byleth is just bringing ALL the relics.

Calling Rhea a "villain" on Silver Snow doesn't seem very accurate.

Was Ninian a villain in Blazing Blade?

Well Rhea is framed as the final threat of SS. Since she goes feral in SS. As FEH indicates, it's part of her despair at Sothis dying and not being able to accept it fully is why she loses control of her power and becomes the final boss against her will.

That's why Rhea accepting Sothis is gone and Byleth is their own person is her ending if she is S-supported.

She's the unwilling and out of control type of villain. She's at most an anti-villain.

[up]x2 Unwitting antagonist would be the correct term given her circumstances. In CF/SB/GW she's just an antagonist though.

"Final threat" =/= "villain." In Silver Snow, she’s the final antagonist, but she’s the unwilling type of antagonist with no control over her actions. She’s a threat, but that doesn’t make her a villain.
