Get Bronze weapons as safety insurance.

Officially done with both Paralogues and capturable bosses. I've got a collection of badasses now approximately the size of an Xbox.

But gah, the knowledge that it could've been one larger but for a rookie error still stings.

I lost Soleil on my Hard Conquest run for the same reason.

Can't trust retreat quotes past the route split. Even on Casual Mode they're gone forever if you don't meet the recruit conditions.

I like Soleil's chapter a lot. This run I was able to recruit her, capture Zhara, and save all the Lancers too. They're actually pretty tough for generics.

Most of the green units in Fates scales up pretty nicely. It's weird playing that, then going back to the GBA games where they're utterly useless (or even the Tellius games, where they're vaguely useful, but still generally outclassed).

3-13 archer travelled to the future to tell IS to get their shit together. Only reasonable explanation.

The ones in Sophie's paralogue are as dumb as bricks. Running towards a berserker, really?

Screw Berserkers in Fates, especially when they appear with Sorcerers. High crit classes that attack different side of the weapon triangle and defensive stats.

The only competent generics in FE7 are the trio of Caelin knights from Chapter 16 - and Fire Emblem being what it is this actually works against you because it's entirely possible for them to kill Raven before you can recruit him if you don't hurry.

Those villagers are designed to be stupid, though. Same as the Awakening ones you need to bail out. And the Sacred Stones ones just sit there and wait to get mauled.

As for Berserkers and Sorcs together, there's usually a positioning that lets a player pick their formation apart. Don't forget to pack bronze/brass/joke weapons.

I blitzed through his join chapter in my first run and killed him in self defense because I thought that he's a hostile enemy that is a jerk towards Lucius and must be stopped. I also misinterpreted the augury by assuming that Priscilla must meet with the chapter's boss for some reason because they have the same hair color.

x4 For very loose definitions of competent. They're very good at doing damage while suiciding straight into the enemy, same as most of the opposing Soldiers (or enemy mooks in general). Raven only risks getting mobbed to death if one seriously dawdles, too. Just clear a path with Marcus so that Priscilla can move her full range each turn and it shouldn't be an issue.

Their stats aren't terribly high, though, so unless you've been spreading yourself overly thin on EXP, your sweepers should enjoy the EXP pinatas.

Really? It's been my experience that they usually go right for Raven, and having a weapon disadvantage he cannot beat all three of them.

That's what I mean for being good at doing damage while suiciding into the enemy. If you look at mooks closely, many of them like using weaponry that gives them a single high-damage hit if they land a hit, at the cost of everything else. Those Soldiers are no different, which is why Raven can die to them (try having him take on three enemy Soldiers in the same EP and he'll be in a similar danger). This doesn't really make the units competent, though, since they're throwing away their lives to maybe eventually kill the enemy. This is the kind of strategy that would get a general mutinied on in actual practice. But back on the topic of Raven, as I said, just don't dawdle, moving Priscilla her max move as much as possible, and he won't be in danger.

Even on the you-can-recruit-everyone route they hose you out of three characters. Bah.

Speaking of the three units not available in Revelation, Mr. Badguy, did you upgrade your castle's Hot Springs and a Puppet to level 3? The latter nets you a pretty powerful anti-mage unit with one of the strangest and most powerful skills in the game if you level him up a little. I found him really useful in Chapter 23.

Yeah, like I said, I found "Puppet guy" (Yukimura) REALLY helpful in Chapter 23, so it might be worth getting him for that.

Plus if you level him up a bit you can screw around with Replicate, the most bizarre and crazy-good skill in the game.

The funny thing about the Sophie paralogue is that I send someone to the enemy in the middle of the island, and when they fight, the villagers would take the long road so that's your extended time.
