And speaking of the castle, a wild Izana appeared.

I enjoyed customizing my castle, too. I mainly focused on how to arrange its defenses to be as tough as possible. As for how well I succeeded, they seemed strong enough when I tested them, especially late in my playthroughs. The only Invasion I had trouble with was Invasion 3 of Birthright (which I never did succeed in repeling), but I don't know how many other players tried storming them, or how well they did.

I'm also pleased to say that Rinkah, after falling behind again, managed to pull back all the way to promotion thanks to a skirmish that was 90% Knights and those weird zero-defense Generals from the Rainbow Sage's chapter.

Maybe the units in the Rainbow Sage's place are reclassed units?

Looking at Aritian's Tactician's playthrough of Mystery of the Emblem and my god, 0 stats Ballistician. Fates Ballistician may be bad, but at least they have stats. Those guys have literally nothing.

And can be frustrating in New Mystery.

I wonder if a Magic playthrough is possible.

So how does one gather My Castle resources? I have a Fishpond and a Quartz Spring, but the other foods and gemstones, especially the latter, have been tricky to come by.

I think the idea is that you get other resources from visiting other castles. Though with gems, you can exchange 10 gems for 1 different gem in the forge.

Is it random what gathering site you start with?

Lottery shop also gives random resources as consolation prizes. The higher the level, the more you get.

And use your Arena.

But moslty, visit other people's castles and use their Arena.

Pretty sure it is random, but once you start your first save I think it's locked in.

That or "Branch Of Fate" technically being a save state just has what you got stored there as well. I think I tried making another file using Branch and I still got Milk and Topaz as my resources.

You might also get them randomly from inhabitants of your castle, or from certain personal skills (Keaton comes to mind).

It will always confuse me how Arthur manages to stub his toe on one bundle of wheat and fail to identify it right after.

Walhart should be mentioned or eluded to in the Gaiden remake. Because Walhart is speculated to be Alm's descendant.

Then again, Ike was speculated to be gay and he ended up getting a descendant.

Well, we really shouldn't be surprised that Ike has descendants. Remember what Micaiah said? "Right, Lord Ike, 'hero' of the Crimean Liberation, leader of the Greil Mercenaries, and father of Sothe's children..."

At the risk of beating a dead horse or starting some tired debate, Ike's always come off as more strictly asexual to me (or, I should be more clear, aromantic, since Priam is his descendant). I mean, the guy pretty much codifies "no interest in romance," especially in comparison to the fact that most FE lords have romantic pairing options or a canon partner. The localization team tried to do an Ike x Elincia thing with a lot of the writing in PoR which was nowhere to be found in the original, and when Radiant Dawn came out and nothing happened on that front (logically), they were kinda just unceremoniously dropped.

I dunno, him being Soren's shoulder to cry on, and saying that he'll always care about Soren no matter who or what he is doesn't exactly scream "romantic partners 5ever" to me. Then again, people will read romance into literally every more tender/emotional interaction between characters of both the opposite and same sex, so there you go. Nothing wrong with shipping them, incidentally, it's just tiresome as hell imo when people treat Ike x Soren as the omg 100% canon 5ever" thing that it most definitely is not.

I mean, Priam could be a many-times great nephew whose lineage traces back to Mist and Boyd.

If Marth can be a descendant of Anri despite being from the lineage of his brother, then I don't see how Priam-Ike relation or the Walhart-Alm relation would be any different.

But Alm's an only child, and his only known relative of the same generation Berkut dies without getting married.

Walhart actually gets referenced in the DLC. Alm's DLC class is called Conqueror. Also Rudolf's redesign looks a lot more like Walhart than the original did.

x4 True, I'd have no qualms at all if it was revealed that Priam pulled a Marth and was an indirect descendant of Ike through Mist and Boyd...it definitely wouldn't have caused the shitstorm that ensued when he was revealed, to be sure. Not to mention fitting with asexual/aromantic Ike.

I mean I definitely like Priam as a concept, and they could tie it all up neatly with just that one clarification.

Going onto the Sixth chapter of New Mystery. Yeah, there's another game-record keeping track where Kris gets praised for not letting anyone die. So I can chalk this down as how this is making others get pissy that Kris gets overly praised. But if you look at how Kris was meant to be an avatar of the player, probably Marth was addressing the player.

Oh and Kris gets praised by Jagen if his STR score is high enough so he could strike a meaningful blow on Lang, who's a General.

So I'll give it +2 Sue Point. So it's 4 Sue Points in Six chapters (of the original Mystery chapters, not the add-ons like Sidequests). Uh... huh... But I'll say that Kris didn't really steal any scenes. But I'm starting to understand why people get pissed on Kris. Apparently I think Kris would be normal or ignorable if they don't add the stat-tracking scenes. I don't think Robin or even Corrin get that! Heck, not even Mark!

Well, it's the only time they ever did that. Mark literally did nothing and doing an assessment on Robin and Corrin would be impossible considering the way they handle stats.

The "Praising the Avatar if they managed to get their stats above a certain threshold" bit seems like it was directed more at the player, essentially saying "Hey, congratulations for getting your stats this high!" Or maybe "Hey, aren't you glad the RNG graced you with such stats that you are seeing this praise?"

Clearly, the Avatar cannot get Sue points here because it's an underhanded way of trying to get the players to like the RNG instead. Give the RNG those Sue points!

Yeah, sure, give Sue points to the RNG, see where that gets you in a Fire Emblem game

RNG cares not for your offerings or your declarations of hatred. RNG will always find some way to screw you over.
