Heh. Was amusing.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Couldn't she just stop time and bail?
She needs the reflexes to stop time in... time, I suppose.
Huh, that third pic makes me realize I can't think of any fanart depicting a hypothetical "evolved" form of Renko to keep up with Maribel-Yukari.
Current earworm: "A New Journey"She just sends in Sumireko while she takes a nap or something idk
Fuck this dude's from my hometown.
Hope all y'all had a fantastic and relaxing whateverholidaystime
So, I just finished watchin' the always-excellent RobinLSL play all of Violet Detector! I've now finally seen how that game works, which would have been helpful looong ago when the thread was filled with many, many pages of in-depth discussion about it, of which I understood not a syllable
So, my reactions, in short (Spoilers, btw, if anyone cares).
-The only music that really impressed me was Nightmare Diary, the rest was OK.
-As Robin states at the end, the difficulty was all outta whack (a common problem with the Photo Games, it seems). A few difficult fights randomly sprinkled throughout lots of not-so-hard ones, and the finale not very hard at all. His biggest problem was with the shield, and yeah, it really looked like it broke the game.
-From the YT comments, it seems EVERYONE hates the Teleport controls, and it seems you HAVE to mod them to be able to enjoy the game. Wow.
-Many people seem to be disappointed that the Bosses all have only one attack and that the fights are just two bosses randomly thrown together. I can understand that... but the combos seem to generate pretty interesting and different patterns each time, and the alternative, dozens of individual patterns, would have probably been waaay to much work.
-There seem to be kinda two styles of play: shooting the bosses and usin' photos to clear bullets, or photographing the bosses to do lotsa damage. From the middle of the game, when you get the shield, you can then also never take photos (except one the game forces you to complete the fight) and just rely on your shield to tank. This variety in playstyles seems pretty cool.
-The vague snippets of the story I saw here in the thread made it seem really crazy complicated to me (like all the Dream World Stuff from the other games/mangas which I never understood)... but now that I've seen it, I think I understand: so, Okina Matara randomly created and/or empowered a copy of Sumi who thought she was the real one and fought her way through the Dream World, becoming crazy OP. Then in the end, Okina randomly depowers Fake Sumi again, and Real Sumi defeats her. Is there much more to it than that? Probably.
-The Hashtags in this game GAVE ME LIFE. Some of the funniest crap I've ever seen in Touhou (huge props to the translatorz!).
(In the 20 seconds I spent lookin' for a complete list of them online, I couldn't find one If any of you have one, may the deity of your choice bless you!) Found it! #ThanksReddit!
I think #WhoaHighMysticLvLMAO is the only one I haven't seen in the LP, what's that one for?

This is all the Lunarians' fault
Song of the SirensThanks, Clarste! Wow, so even though the actual craziness is way more complicated, the basic gist I got from the game was kinda correct. There was a double that was empowered by Okina (why!?), and she was beaten by a Sumi, but not actually the real, flesh-and-blood-Sumi, that one was just at home bein' bored (sad ).
The chapter itself was adorable. While, yes, ZUN did insert a lot of snarkiness about the silliness of the Rescue-Sumi-Club and its members, that doesn't change the heartwarming fact that they did genuinely want to help and save Sumi, 'cause she's their friend <3<3<3<3
Still seven and a half hours to the new year, how are y'all doin'?
That reminds me of a Zounose doujin.
Or more accurately, the premise of This One. (Not a Zounose doujin.)
Aaaaaannnnnndddd... BOOM! Ein frohes neues Jahr 2019 to all my dear Thread Companions!
May it bring us new crazy Touhou Lore which will probably all be the LUNARIAAANNSSSS' fault again (or Okina's! she's movin' up there!)
IDK about the Lunarians, I think the 'Urban Legend' arc has more or less wrapped up.
Song of the SirensThe urban legend arc will last until Tasofro decides to change game engines, imo.
the trailer for the next episode was more exiting than this one
what an anticlimax
