I'm sorry. ._.;

So, what about the pictures?

I like the second, the fifth, the eleventh, and the twelfth a lot. They just make me wanna hug her...

Aha!

I found the Parsee thread on the Touhou imageboard. Lots of good stuff in there.

[1] [2] Q_Q

[3] [4] awesome.

[5] I dig the style.

Awwwwwwww!

Awwwwwwwuuuuh.

Awwwaaaaargh!

Grotesque cute? I... I like this one! Not what I would portray her as, but it's nice.

I think I still like the ones from the earlier post better, though...

Hmm, there seems to be a recurring representation of the "green-eyed monster" as a blob thing that consists mostly of eyes. Is that just the most obvious interpretation or is it based on anything in particular?

I dunno. It might be based on one of her spellcards. I think that the third picture there is pretty obviously based off that card...

That particular card is actually called "Jealousy Sign ~ Green-Eyed Monster" or something like that.

Marisa, Reimu and perhaps Cirno make good matches for Parsee, with their easy-going, friendly attitudes. I think they would get through to her Dere-side without being frightened away by the Tsun.  Note

I also keep thinking of her thinking of Yamame like a good friend/younger sister-like friend.

I've already mentioned my reasons for not liking it when Marisa's shipped with anyone. I also think that Cirno's too much of a child to really understand romance.

I'm not talking romance, though. I'm just thinking friends at the moment.  Cirno

So what's the rationale behind shipping Parsee and Yuugi, besides geographic convenience? I'm not sure if being easy-going alone is enough to build a relationship on...

Lemurian: RAAAEEEGGGG

Faw: Sorry. I do like the idea of Dai being best friends with her, but she's just too childlike in my mind to imagine her having romantic thoughts of any kind about anyone. The Cirno/Dai dynamic is adorable to me in the way seeing two young girls become friends with each other is.

^ Don't say I didn't warn you!  Cirno and Dai

Well, the way I like to think of it is Parsee getting interested in Yuugi because of the latters friendly attitude to everyone. Also, Yuugi doesn't notice Parsee's Tsun side at all, just grinning at her antics and keeps beeing her friend. Parsee's interest grows to adoration and love.  Digression

"Romantic" Two-Girl Friendship...? Maaaybeee...

As for Parsee/Yuugi, I see it being more of a mother/daughter type of relationship than anything.

You take me too seriously sometimes, Dakky! I can totally understand where you're coming from and I might actually agree. I just kinda had to say something as the guy who's had Because Cirno-chan is the Strongest... avatars for forever now. ... Also, I was really hoping someone could teach me that smiley, because it's useful. tongue

Lemu, your shipping is... accepted! I like the idea. Of course, I know nothing at all about Yuugi, so I have no idea how much of a basis it has in anything, but I'll just trust you on that one!

A mother/daughter relationship? ... Who's who?

... Man, nobody likes Reimu.

I guess the problem with her is that there's just so much of her that it's hard to point out a specific instance... We totally need more stuff for her, though.

I'll throw out a topic for Reimu, BTW. Why doesn't she utilize the power of the Gods in the game like she did in Silent Sinner In Blue?

^^Yuugi would be the mother. I see her having a strong desire to help and protect poor lil' Parsee, whereas the latter would see Yuugi with the admiration a small child has for their parent.

^Never read any of the manga. Although actually, I have always wondered who the god/goddess of the Hakurei Shrine is.

Man, it sure would help if I had any idea what happens in that manga. Hum.

Maybe the fights in the games are just "canonically" not hard enough to justify that? I mean, even if you're playing Lunatic mode and barely managing to beat the first stage, they'll still be all like "ahahaha didn't even break a sweat".

^ Well, that makes sense. She only used it to do something constructive, after all.

Oh, did she. I read on the Touhou wiki that the spellcard system was designed by her in order to allow for non-lethal combat and for a youkai to have a fair chance at beating her... There we go. "It was specified in Perfect Memento in Strict Sense that the Spell Card system was developed by Reimu and first used in the Scarlet Mist incident. They were designed to give even weak youkai and humans a chance to win, as well as to provide youkai a way to defeat the Hakurei Shrine in a fair duel."

Are we done discussing Parsee for now? We could move on to another character if there's nothing left to add.

HOLD IT! ...sorry, I Always Wanted to Say That.

Interesting fact about Parsee! She's not actually the guardian of the bridge anymore after she started attacking passer-bys.

Is that so~

She's become more like a classic hiding-under-the-bridge type of troll, huh?

Once, she was the protector, or guardian spirit, of the pit linking the underworld with the overworld. She watched over people to make sure that they could get to the underworld and back to the overworld safely.

However, as she is extremely jealous, she couldn't stand the people who looked like they were having fun going to and fro. Whenever she saw someone like that, she would hinder their travel somehow.

Jealousy only begets further jealousy, so as she went mad from her own jealousy, she became able to fan the flames of jealousy in the hearts of others.

I AM NINJA, HEAR ME ROAR.

Well, that actually makes it a little easier to sort things out. Didn't really make sense to me why they'd keep someone like that as a guard of the bridge... And come to think of it, the fact she lost her status as a guardian probably only made her more jealous and angry. Q_Q
