Three. Next Tuesday.
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"Yep, they're fucked. :Stupid Overlord with its stupid robotic brain standing in the way of a good brainfry!
I'm guessing that Traci 13 and Zatanna will be key in un-fucking them, they were name-dropped this episode and Wyynde said, 2 episodes ago, that magic helped with the Ghost Dimension's deleterious effects.
Someone help me with a headscratcher : if Granny Goodness only formulated her theory about the Anti-Life Equation after seeing Halo, what was the original purpose of the device she created ?

TBH, this feels like a rehash of the first season's finale. Most of the heroes get brainwashed, leaving the main characters to fight and un-brainwash them.
Though one difference is that one of the free heroes isn't a young inexperienced newcomer but an experienced hero who has been through a season long Trauma Conga Line.
Disgusted, but not surprisedConsidering the show is on a streaming service with less restrictions, and considering how dark and edgy the show is, especially this season, I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of death by the season's end.
To be fair, we still have three episodes left. There's plenty of time for things to go sideways and offer us a much different finale than what we're predicting. Not to mention the stakes are way, WAY bigger than ever before.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).*4 Same thing but suppressing free will via torture.
I do find it tragically ironic that only those who are inherently strong via metagenes can survive without free will. While all the normals are too weak to survive without it.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Teaser promo for the season finale. SPOILER warning and all that.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).How is Elongated Man NOT a Meta?
Its totally topsy turvy that Beast Boy and Cyborgs usual dynamic is in reverse
Granny Goodness stopping rhino Beast Boy and punching him out with her bare hands neatly demonstrates that New Gods are on a different level from mere mortals. There's a reason she's one of Darkseid's elite.
Heck, I bet G. Gordon Godfrey could throw down with some of the heroes.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWonder if that Monkey King thing with BB is gonna lead up to something in his showdown with Granny Goodness? He turned into Hanuman in the comics before to fight something above his supposed pay grade.
x4 Elongated Man's powers aren't permanent. He gets them by ingesting Gingold Extract, which he needs regular doses of. No Gingold, no powers.

Though in the comics, Ralph still is a metahuman. The gingold extract normally doesn't grant stretching powers to anyone — it does help contortionists, but that's about it. Heck, most people are deathly allergic to it, especially in the concentrated form Ralph ingests. Ralph's metagene is what allows him to gain stretching powers from the gingold extract.
I guess one way to interpret it is that while the gingold extract can in theory grant stretching powers to anyone, in practice the concentrated gingold you'd need to consume would trigger a fatal allergic reaction in damn near every human being. Ralph's metagene power allows him to consume the gingold without suffering such a reaction. So I guess you could define Ralph's actual metagene power as "not being allergic to gingold".
It's like how in Marvel comics, gamma radiation normally cannot turn just any human being into a Hulk. They have to have the right genetic "trigger" for it, whether through naturally inheriting it as a descendant of the first human to manifest the trigger in ancient times, or having their genetics modified. Granted, Immortal Hulk has revealed that there's also something outright supernatural and otherworldly about gamma radiation too.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think it's less the issue of free will and more the means in which they inflict it: Granny notes that it's the torture of the ghost dimension, specifically, that non-metas can't survive, and her device works by channeling the energy from that dimension into people en-masse.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Considering that all metas in this verse are descended from Vandal Savage, whose own meta-power is Complete Immortality, it makes sense that all metas have inherited at least a bit of that resilience.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, either he's not a metahuman here or the writers done goofed.
I would go for not a Meta Human.
I gotta say, this series has done a really great job with Granny Goodness. She's probably one of the most intimidating villains in the series. Deborah Strang does a great job of combining her old lady sweetness with genuine malice.
Yeah.
Never thought I'd find a version of Granny I liked more than Ed Asner, but there we go.
I mean, it's funny to think Granny's first voice wasn't even female, but I'd say it worked.
One Strip! One Strip! When I rewatch Spectacular, it'll get difficult to hear her again as sweet Aunt May.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Neither can I believe that Aunt May is a New God.
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"Is the Ghost Dimension actually something from Kirby's Fourth World, or is it a case of "the lawyers won't let us say 'Phantom Zone'"?
Ive never heard of those places in Dreamland. Must be from a Kirby game I haven't played!
