Games as Lit analyzes Week 2.
Part of this might be nostalgia, but that video reminded me of why I consider TWEWY to be Square-Enix's best written and most artistically coherent game of the last 10 years or so (along with the two Nier's). While it has a lot of the same themes as many JRPG's, it is much better at executing them than the majority of games in the genre, with strong subversions of expectations that actually work and character arcs that feel earned and meaningful. It's a bit Anvillicious, but honestly JRPG's aren't exactly known for subtlety in the first place so it's hard to hold that against it.

One slip up on the video's part. He says that Joshua is looking for the Conductor. While that is what's actually going on, that's a bit of a spoiler for first time players.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Maybe they'll finally stop teasing a sequel and announce one. Fingers crossed. Anything Smash-related would be cool too, but that seems less likely.
Finished A New Day today, coincidentally. It was not especially fun to play, aside from the final boss. Game design felt like one of those bad Mario Maker levels with a truckload of enemies and an invincibility star. Story was about what I expected, from what I’d heard and the things I’d been spoiled for. On its own, it’s just a frustrating sequel hook, but if that sequel actually happens, I’d be interested. There are some cool ideas there. Just hope it’d be better as far as gameplay goes.

Watch SymphogearThis could be really cool! Noticed there are a few new characters in that picture, so it'll be interesting to see what gets added.
...Now where's that sequel they've been teasing for years? Just give it to us already! D:
A sequel's been teased by a reliable Square Enix insider on ResetEra so this would likely be a tie-in to that (I remember reading that one of the game's directors actually did work on some anime shows in some capacity?). The game lends itself pretty well to the format but whether this turns out well or not all depends on the staff and studio involved.
Betting the Sequel will segue into Sora's Shenanigans in Shibuya post KH III.
Watch SymphogearDamn those zeta sons of digits are finally doing something with the property that isn’t just a port.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The 104 on the website has a different font, it could just be to reflect how 109's sign got a visual overhaul but knowing this team, it's almost definitely a sign this anime's going to have something different.
Note: The KH III secret ending does not have this font change, so *shrug*.
The main thing I'd note here is that games don't get anime adaptations if the franchise is dormant. In fact, they're usually timed to have the anime come out around the time of a new product. This doesn't rule out another remake, but I'd say a sequel is more likely
Anime teaser trailer debuted at Anime Expo Lite.
There was also an interview about it and the production, and hopefully that'll be uploaded soon.
Pretty close imitation of the game's style. Looks like the noise are 3DCG, but they've got good shaders
...I wonder how they're even going to handle the noise in the story? They weren't exactly plot-relevant
The animation looks really good. They nailed the game's art style.
Probably just boss fights and plot-relevant stuff like Taboo Noise showing up for the first time.

also the game is on sale for the switch right now
Everyone having smartphones was an inevitable setting update. It'd be funny if that got backported into a new game where everyone's flip phones got replaced.
Bit disappointed they went with CG for Noise, but at least they're stylized enough?
And Ishimoto is back for music YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Joshua's dramatic phone closing will be a big loss though. Spinning a smartphone on his hand doesn't have the same flair.
Panel's official upload by Anime Expo, it's about 40 minutes long.
He can just have a cool case.
Also as much as I love that this is happening, the trailer needed Twister, or Calling, or any of the original songs, even if it's a remixed version.
Nouct everyone is CG.
