— The entire cavern shook from a massive, distant explosion, the taste of murdered stars engulfing those who could sense it. For the rot of the Cradle had been purged with discharges of plasma, sent roaring back into the hellish space to burn all which lived near the entrance to atoms.—
Ohhhh, How Precious!
— Golden floodlights flashed to life, pointing at each and every member of the party, Nomads included. From one of those lights floated the white and gilded figure of Digamma, snarling winds telling of his dervishes in tow.—
Two Mongrels, Reunited In Bliss At Last! I Gotta Hand It To You, Fine Job Making Yerselves Decent And Vulnerable. Plan Was Near Flawless, kid!
—The golden reaper just grinned at them for a moment while his creatures armed themselves. —
Save Me Their Power, Boys. You Can Have The Rest.
—As the dozen or so monsters began their charge, four of them converging on the divine couple, the ancient deity vanished with an echoing, booming laugh.—
— The militantiaries all stared at the old man who was not, then unslung their arms to point at him.
"^^ Respectfully, suh, we ask you to surrender—^^"
—The front dozen or so things flinched, eyes glowing gold. One in the uniform of Red Army general's uniform even doubled over, before looking back up with a familiar rictus. A scythe appeared in his gloved hands.—
You Got An Explanation For Me, Meddler?
—The door to Lambda's sanctum flashed white hot.—
—And all the while, the Dark God reached into the transpatial void... —
A sigh.
"Already?"
Multiple Fire Arrows streaked toward the gathering dervishes, with incredible heat.
"We haven't come this far to fail now!"
Drawing his sword, Link charged towards the creatures.

To Be Updated when I'm not LazyBlink was out. Out of everything. She couldn't pull any tools out, she couldn't find a fancy gadget that would let her do anything in this fight. All she could do was teleport, and while that was normally her ace, the thing that let her take enemies off guard, there was no way simply melee combat would do much of anything to their attackers.
She backed up, away from the attacking militantaries, and teleported back further, trying to put as much distance between herself and them as she could. It was all she could do right now. That, and maybe help those who were getting cornered. She could still teleport them out of danger...
With a pop, she appeared next to the two nomads.
"Mister Lam-Shinji, Miss Asuka, I can get you somewhere safer!"

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Hey! Cover fire!"
The Black Stig ran as fast as he could, being told by Michael and Durant to get down and provide suppressive fire. Durant and Michael went to the rear and provide some cover fire.
Spriggan hurled a primed smoke grenade at the creatures to distract them.
"Okay, first of all..." said Sub-Zero. He removed his mask and threw up, attempting to aim it at the creatures. Then, he froze and unfroze his teeth. "Second..." He put on his thankfully clean mask, readied his Kori Sword, and prepared to fight.
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!Bowser did his tried and true tactic of burning his opponents.
Iota, on the other hand, had gone to the recently vacated body of Enchidna and was currently ripping a hole where the back would be.
To be seen, stand up To be heard, speak up To be appreciated, shut upThere was a chuckle down the hallway leading to the ballroom, sounding like someone speaking through a speaker. Stepping into the room is Zeta as Digamma knows him, the youthful Nomad sporting a smile on his face. "Something wrong bro? Run outta things to fight? This is more hands on then usual." he said with a chuckle.
"Well, if it isn't the man of the hour himself," Dis Baba said, his own smile widening slightly as though he were rather pleased with this turn of events. "I must say, Digamma, the moth-eaten rags of the Commissariat suite you."
The Kin overlord stepped away from the Demacian militantiary, holding out one hand as what appeared to be a cocktail glass of some sort materialized from nothing and plucking the slender-stemmed piece of drinkware out of the air; as he did so, the fibrous soldier who had once hailed from the home citystate of a certain Crownguard crumbled to dust, the power which had been animating it snuffed out in an eyeblink and its remains beyond repair, resurrection or recycling. Once the last mote of dust had fallen, a swirling golden liquid appeared in the formerly-empty glass, and Dis Baba took a single light sip before sighing in satisfaction, as though he had just sampled some rare and heavenly beverage that could only be consumed in moderation.
"By the by, that scythe you carry is quite an impressive weapon," the alien said conversationally, standing some ten feet away from Digamma's position, still grinning as he gently swirled the contents of his glass around. "As one professional to another, however, I'd advise you to stay away from gold; fancy and ostentatious gilded weapons may be, but when it comes to actual combat they simply do not make the cut."
Dis Baba chuckled softly at his own pun, and took another sip from his cocktail glass. Where any of those in the ballroom to look at the floor, they would see that it was now covered in what appeared to be a vast web of darkness; the shadows of the Inevitables, still paralyzed by some strange and unknown force and their shades still stretching to the center of the room like the spokes of a giant wheel, had begun to branch off and radiate, connecting to each other over and over and over in a design that was at once highly chaotic and totally ordered. Furthermore, Dis Baba's shadow continued to waver like a mirage and grow larger, and other, more sinister changes had come over his shade; those strange twinkling lights in the eyes of his shadow now appeared fixed there permanently, and small, strage protrusions that might have been branches or chitinous limbs seemed to radiate from his sides, visible one second and gone the next.
The door to Lambda's sanctum began to warp under the heat, but it held...for now, at least. All throughout, that woman's voice continued to mutter just beyond, her words still unintelligible and her tone rarely fluctuating.
Anger flashed across Rho, and her eyes blazed with a sudden and unholy black light; before the four dervishes could reach the two Nomads, the ground rumbled ominously...and then deadly rays of the same umbral radiance dropped from the unseen heavens, annihilating the quartet of cyclonic minions within the blink of an eye with a series of pinpoint strikes. Unlike the devastating blasts unleashed by 'Asuka' during her earlier attempts to kill the Champions, the explosions caused by these pillars were tightly focused and controlled so that they would damage only whoever Rho wished to be damaged.
"Get back here and fight, you filthy coward!" she roared, her vehemence and rage almost equal to that of the inert giantess. Speaking of said giantess, Iota was having no luck in that regard; her scaly hide was impossibly tough and durable, resisting his efforts to tear it open and commandeer the lifeless body for himself.
Lambda, for his part, cracked his armoured knuckles as the tattered remains of his robe disintegrated; in their place, an immaculate silver business suit wove itself into being, and beneath his loosely-buttoned double-breasted jacket, highly-reflective platinum plate armour could be seen. He threw a punch towards one of the remaining eight dervishes, and the air between them exploded with overwhelming sound as a barrage of stone-pulping sonic force tore towards the cyclonic monstrosity.
The Danse Macabre CodexBlink, not knowing what else she could possibly do, brought her fists up and held them in front of her. She had to fight somehow, and this was the only way she could think of how to do it.
She remained unaware of the fraction of power that was within her.
Meanwhile, there was eight of them.
They remembered. They knew. They all knew. These eight were the ones who would undertake this effort.
A portal opened in the battlefield that had been Echidna's chamber.
The Vortigaunts were coming to pay back the champions who had freed them so long ago.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Iota, seeing that he was having no luck with making an entryway, then went to the front to use one that had been previously opened, namely, the one that Rho had come out of.

To be seen, stand up To be heard, speak up To be appreciated, shut up"Is that... Gordon, thanks."
To Be Updated when I'm not Lazy"Whoa..."
Michael was amazed to see the incoming reinforcments. The Black Stig was busy laying down suppressive fire with the K3.
"I guess we better thank Gordon for this." Spriggan said, resuming fire after he had thrown one of his few remaining smoke grenades.
"Can't we go five minutes without a Nomad attack?" said Mason as he unloaded a magazine at the nearest Dervish.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!"That's what we get. They are like hornets after you strike the nest." Narumi said, firing at the deverishes.
Sub-Zero was about to send a freezing blast at Rho, but decided not to. He didn't think it would be a good idea.

J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!The portal widened briefly, and then they stepped out in full. The vortigaunts eyed their battlefield, the fleshy chamber filled with champions, nomads, and dervishes.
Their leader announced his presence.
"Champions and nomads who serve their mystery," he said, turning towards the dervishes with his fellow vortigaunts. "We now serve it as well."
There was a crackling buildup of what appeared to be green lightining from his hands. The other vortigaunts formed a line beside him, and did the same. After only a moment of this, they thrust their hands forward and a thick bolt of destructive green energy surged forth from each of them, targetting the dervishes.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Thank you Gordon."
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! Thanks, Gordy.
Spriggan had a silent thank you as he continued to keep firing his G36C.
Sub-Zero quietly thanked Gordon, then set to work preparing an ice grenade. If he was directly attacked, he would need something explosive.
