this is the greatest news that ever existed on this earth
like everything is beautiful and nothing hurts guys can you feel this HYPEEEEEEE
not only do we get based platinum, we have based akihiko yoshida aka the best artist at SE.
It's like SE was wondering "how do we make the perfect game
let's get our best artist, and the only person who makes interesting jrpg plots anymore and have them work with the best action game studio of all time"
this game will be amazing
I just died of a fatty heart. This is probably the greatest announcement so far, other than Dishonored 2 (and Dark Souls III, but that one was a given).
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence....Huh.
I am legimately surprised.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!yeah, without question.
dark souls 3+nier master race
it is a great time for vidya
i kind of wish this was an entirely new project rather than a follow up to nier but i know yoko. he never phones ANYTHING in. this isn't just gonna be a retread of nier's emotional beats.
God, you reminded me of what could've been with Cry On.
So thanks to E3, I discovered NieR, which led me to discover that it's a spin off of something called Drakengard.
...
Suicide?
Incest?!
Pedophilia?!
CANNIBALISM?!?!
What the eff kind of game has any of that?!?!?

A really fucked up one.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Have you seen/heard the intro cinematic yet? 0:3
I am also beyond hyped at the prospect of another proper Nier soundtrack, the first one was spectacular.

the best kind of game.
actually it's pretty bad as a GAME but as a spectacle to behold it's fascinating.
nier doesn't have any of that but it is so FUCKED UP and will destroy everything that you love. it's one of the most oppressive games i've ever played but also like the only jrpg with a plot i've cared about in YEARS. the dialogue is unusually good, the characters defy every jrpg trope ever, the music is GOD-TIER, ending D is one of the greatest moments of videogame storytelling ever. it's conceptually brilliant in every way.
and it's not just me here either. nier is the only jrpg you'll ever see critics of videogame storylines in general give any kind of praise. even people, ESPECIALLY people who hate jrpgs tend to enjoy nier, because it is in many ways the anti-jrpg.
nier is one of my favorite games ever, if you couldn't tell. it's probably my favorite rpg ever next to the first dark souls and valkyrie profile.

Has to be a reference to Replicants, if it's legit.
Say, I guess with this, the KH 3 gameplay trailer and the FF 7 remake Square has pretty much won this year's E3?
I mean, I am doubtful on the third one but they are still the ones who are gonna create the most discussion amongst gamers in the next few months.

"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!the only way they could win any harder was with valkyrie profile 3 and ff tactics advance 3.
they have something for EVERYONE, pretty much. deus ex, tomb raider and hitman for western gamers, nier for the super hardcore/cynical western gamers, kh3 for everyone, etc.
Reminds me I still need to buy Human Revolution.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Holy crap, they're sequelling Nier. I'm going to have to replay it. All I remember is being really, really confused.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.did you play ng+? it's not actually very confusing once you get to ending b, by then everything falls into place pretty neatly.
the only really confusing part is the mechanics behind ending d which makes sense once you remember it's a drakengard spinoff.

Did you ever play it twice? Because things make a lot more sense on a second playthrough. Heck, there are entire scenes that you only get to see on a New Game Plus.
...Well played, sir; well played.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundHaving never played Drakengard, I think I remember...an evil contamination or something entered the universe from somewhere else and then the world died and shadows happened? And also people ARE the shadows? And nobody has a soul?
It didn't make sense to me when it was fresh in my memory and that was years ago. @.@

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.yeah, the protagonist from drakengard 1 crashed into modern day tokyo and had a battle with a giant evangelion salt demon and created a disease which destroyed humanity.
i recommend reading dark id's lp first and then replaying nier. it's delightfully bizarre, but it does make sense.
I still can't believe this is real...
Basically an evil Eldricht Abomination named the grotesquerie queen tried to destroy the world of Midgard and the hero and his Dragon tried to stop her.
During the fight a dimensional portal opened sending the fighters to another world... Our world Tokyo Japan to be precise.
At that point the GQ started singing and the hero and his Dragon had a rhythim game showdown to silence and kill her.
They suceeded but their foreign presence was hugely prejudicial to the biosphere of the world and brought about a plague that killed almost everyone.
Also, japanese airforce shot and killed down and the Dragon was later impaled on Tokyo Tower.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!basically the main theme of nier is What Measureisa Non Human explored in every way possible. also it's remarkably subtle. no monologues, no stance taken by the game itself in any overt manner. you decide what being human really is.
Oh I can't wait until, certain people, talk about Kainé. Oh it will be telling if people actually played the game or are just basing things off of what they see. I really do hope that's Kainé at the end of the trailer, or maybe it's Yonah.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2
Don't forget cultivating the Lunar Tear for an achievement/trophy. : D
