I wouldn't merge, at least not until the controversy dies down. Better to keep it off the main Metroid page for the moment.

I knew it was gonna be Nightmare the second the gravity weirded up, too! I actually found him to be disappointingly easy. sad He was a bastard in Fusion; I guess the X pumped him up a bit.

Was not disappointed by his 3D true face, though. Sweet Jesus.

Well, I for one quite liked the game. I detest first-person games, so I hope the Metroid series stays firmly in third.

Honestly, I didn't mind Sam as chatty and emotional. I do hope she tones it down just a wee bit next time, though.

Just a wee bit.

Am I only one who finds it annoying how most peoples seem to not care about cutscenes at all and always skip them? =/ While technically I can understand it as just wanting to play, I kinda dislike that kind of behavior a lot...

@DDZ: I don't think anybody would mind as long it didn't became into a argument, but anyway, I think you mentioned your opinion before already(it was that its painful to watch bad story with dull voice acting and so on?), so there isn't really any reason for you to say it.

I just find it kinda annoying since when I was playing with my old friends long time ago, they always wanted to skip cutscenes =P I guess its understandable as when you are with friends you wouldn't like to waste time to watch something when you could do something... But I still find it annoying even though its 100% understandable.(+ the guys at Youtube D= Its highly annoying when you find some game that has very few videos and everyone of those just skims the part of the game)

Well if you want to watch the scenes, it's best not to do multiplayer, since the group just wants to get to the game.

Plus even good cut scenes can get annoying if you can't skip them, and you are replaying a game.

^Well, true on both points, its just that most of those times one of us hadn't seen the cutscene xD(aka, if its my friend's game, I'm interested in what happened, if its my own game, I'm sad that they are not interested in whatever happens in that cutscene)

And on second point, I usually watch them through at least on first time(note: In Other M you can skip them after first time playing it through), though I do watch them again if they had awesome music or moments or skipping the cutscene does weird gameplay wise =P(in some games, skipping the cutscene does something to gameplay for some reason xD)

Well people watch them once, and they don't want to go through all that again when doing a second playthrough.

^ Which is a thing I despise about gamers. W Hen you watch a movie, do you skip scens until you reach the fight scene? No! It's just...Argh, it makes me feel that most gamers are a bunch of troglodites. I mean, if it is a fun game, then the jokes are the main point of the story, right? If you are playing a game with some story, (metal gear solid, final fantasy 10, hotel dusk, whatever) then are you telling me that you don't care for the tear jerker scens the cute scenes at all?? jeez...

On the other hand, While I haven't played the game yet, I have been spoiled a few scens and the whole "brooding and monloguing" was kinda painful, to be honest. Not to start a flame war, but as my (only, I promise) thoughts go, it's not that it's sexist, it's just that she broods like she were cloud or squall or ARGH!! people do NOT like to watch angsty protagonists!! (ok That's it, now go on to another subject)

"W Hen you watch a movie, do you skip scens until you reach the fight scene?"

All the scenes are still like a movie. Cut scenes are like something other than a movie intruding into the movie. I want to just watch the movie, so I will skip the non-movie parts.

^^That's wierd.

^^^The thing is, would you want to watch said tearjerker cutscene on subsequent playthtoughs over and over again without any means to skip it. Gamers do care for cutscenes but on subsequent playthroughs, they're a waste of time. Especially if there's more emphasis on gameplay than story.

Out. The both of you. Read the title, read the warning from FE, and leave the thread in peace while you both go to your rooms and think about what you've done.

...It would've been cool if Yakuza showed up in this game as another Fusion future-nod. I mean, he's my least favorite boss in any game ever, but if he ended up really easy like Nightmare was for me, it would've been oh so satisfying.

How would a space jumping spider work in 3-D that is the question. Though yeah he was really tough in Fusion to some people. I don't remember having that much trouble with him for some reason.

Well we weren't arguing, just discussing. Plus cut scenes are relevant to the game.

Now I gotta ask about the dodging. Does it take split second timing, despite the speed of the battles and load of stuff happening that can obscure what you need to dodge? Because I hate that.

Yes, but you're not penalized for trying to dodge, so if you want to dodge an attack, you can just spam the directional button in the direction you want to dodge. That said, the camera is really good in this game so it very rarely obscures what you need to see.

I wrote "loads of stuff happening" causing it to be hard to see, not the camera (which I've seen is the kind that tends to make platforming a bitch).

Hmm? Knowing what elements of the screen to focus on is a basic gaming skill. I haven't had a problem with it although I suppose other people might. There typically isn't enough enemies for it to be a big deal.

On the platforming part, the game's camera handles that very well too. I haven't had any problems with it.
