Also who else has power armour? I need that.
Avatar SourceMy Courier thinks power armor is too ugly so he doesn't use it.
I believe mine had as much cybernetics stuck in as possible, and then went and added power armour on top, because being shot is annoying.
Although, I think I've never done a Wild Card ending, don't see the point.
Avatar SourceMy guy likes leather armor and rifles. And nothing else. No power armor, no pistols, no plasma or lasers, no melee weapons. No heavy armor or stealth suit.
Imagine the horror when he woke up in the Sierra Madre.
What is life without some pew pew (though, really, I was more into the gauss rifle)
I'm all for the duster look and stuff, but sometimes you just need to be a big metal lump coming in to punch someone so hard they explode.

Avatar SourceIf there's one thing Fallout 4 did right, it was the Power Armor system. It was actually fun clomping around in the things. Plus, I remember there being a mod that allowed you to stand by for Titanfall, courtesy of a custom flare gun and a Vertibird air drop.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.I got a power armor with the brotherhood, but since that caused the NCR to become hostile, I decided to put it on Veronica.
Eventually, the Enclave gave me armor, which I wore in the final battle. (House Ending)

Oh yeah, I enjoy FO 4's power armour, but I'm avoiding using it for my current run (actually using a modded thing which achieves a lot of the same in terms of DR, but is less hassle and wouldn't have me chasing down mods for power armour first). You're a walking tank. You're actually big, and tanky (again), and it does more than offer some extra DT against dinky potshots.

But it just looks so nasty. Mine is willing to use energy weapons and occasionally melee weapons, but he's thinking that it's gross and it messes with his style.
All true, but I used power armor for Fallout 3. I just can't bring myself to put it on my Courier.
He's charismatic. He needs to look like a rogue.

At least we know what to put on your tombstone. "Died in fashion".
Avatar SourceIn Fallout 3 my favorite armor was Reily's, and since the Talon attack me often, I could use their armor to repair Reily's.
In New Vegas, my least favorite armor is the stealth armor in the robots dlc, due to the automatic use of stimpaks.
I wanted to save my stimpaks for tough enemies, or when I'm about to die.
Edited by LucienRen on May 25th 2023 at 8:45:17 AM
Honestly unless you're just hardcore roleplaying, or playing in Survival mode, by the time you get the stealth suit in OWB you should have enough stimpaks that you wouldn't even need to worry about her using it all up. The annoying part is the fact that she dispenses Med-X.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.I had spent almost all my money on implants and sniper ammo, so I had very little.
I had to beat the final boss, with only two.
The second time I arrive more prepared, but it's still annoying.

My tombstone would read "what the fuck is this outfit?"
But I always try to make sure my characters wear clothing and armor that fits them. Unless it's a significant downgrade that makes the game too hard.
Edited by SilentColossus on May 25th 2023 at 3:09:58 PM
I usually let fashion influence my armour choices, yeah. I don't ignore stats entirely, but if the choice is between an optimal outfit that doesn't "fit" the character in my head, and an outfit that's suboptimal but fits better — the latter wins.
Granted, I play on PC and you can hotkey clothes. So it's not uncommon for me to just quickly switch between a suit or actual-armour depending on if I'm about to head into a dungeon, a settlement, etc. Optimal, and makes RP sense!

The Brotherhood aren't a remnant of the USA military. Their founder defected from the USA shortly before the Great War began. Maxson was so disgusted by the FEV project that he lost faith in the USA.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI think you mean the Enclave.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Dunno how many people in this thread could even benefit from this, but the Ultimate edition of New Vegas, which includes it and all of its DLC, is free to claim this week on the, ahem, Epic Games Store.
& Not wrong, though—the Brotherhood is using standard pre-bombing army gear. T-51b, for the most part.
Avatar SourcePower Armor itself is basically the last remnant of the pre-War USA military. It was one of the last advances in military hardware they made before the world ended.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI decided to go Wild Card (while pretending to help the New California Republic) and go for the closest thing to a golden ending.

Edit: I finished the NCR missions, though I did realize that I can get both endings without creating two games.
I basically save before the Colonel tells me to go to the general, so there I see what number it is, and then I complete the NCR mission.
And when I have completed it, I go to the saved game, and I go to Yes-man, and I do his missions, along with the secondary missions that I am missing.
Ps: Sorry by the double post.

Man I dunno why they gave the intoxication jingle to everything, even eating chips, wearing off.
Secret Signature
My Independent Courier couldn't bring himself to destroy the Brotherhood, even though he knew it'd mean they'd be the biggest threat to the Mojave moving forward. Yes Man called him a dumbass in the nicest way possible when he wandered back to the Lucky 38.
He thought it'd make him too much like the NCR at Bitter Springs. Too much like what they planned to do with the Kings without the Courier being there to solve the conflict peacefully. Those are some of the major reasons he is anti-NCR expansion to begin with.
So yeah now the Brotherhood are free to rob travelers of their advanced technology.
