Ever17 (spoiler thread!)

This is the Ever17 thread made to discuss stuff from the game that would contain toxic amounts of spoilers. If you haven't fully completed Ever17, don't read any further.

With that out of the way, hopefully some nice discussion on Ever17 and its awesomeness can be done here.

Fun fact; Ever17 was my first visual novel. I played through Tsugumi's route and then Sora's. Unfortunately I didn't know how to use the skip or fast forward features. So I read a lot of the same damn thing until the very end.

But seriously Sora's route is fucking awesome. Especially the shop window scene.

Sadly my computer broke before I could finish it. I really should replay the game again some day.

It bugs me that Sora's route doesn't really 'fit' like the other three routes do. It's a good story. Only other thing I like about it is the whole dying a hero (Tsugumi) vs Sora's dying an idiot thing.

I didn't particularly like Sora's route. Felt a bit boring to me. Also, let's try WMG what happened in the kick the can thing.

The whole kick the can thing is one of the most amazing and terrible mindscrews ever.

Ah, that. That's an issue I don't really want to guess about. There aren't enough clues to make any sort of educated guess. The best you can do is a theory something like the Kid's voice being projected across time.

Remember 11 patch just came out for those who don't know.

Unfortunately it seems the torrent I downloaded months ago was the wrong one

However, the actual game itself is rather difficult to find. I thought I had the proper version but something seems to be wrong with it.

The Tomato Surprise was clever, as in it abused the VN tropes, too bad that it was obvious that there will be some sort of Tomato Surprise, that lessened the impact, unlike in my favorite Tomato in .....Ef.....

I don't really get Tsugumi's 2034 POV. When did she realize what's going on? Based on her earlier knowledge, she was just invited to Le MU with the promise of seeing her children, and she got caught up in a replica of 2017, where for some reason, unknown people impersonated Takeshi, You and Kid, while Coco was replaced with another girl. Why did she originally trust in Kid, who appeared to be one of the impersonators, instead of Sara, who was the odd one out?

Kid wasn't being impersonated from her point of view. He looks completely different and acted completely different. Unlike Takeshi, he made no indication that he was trying to be the same person as last time. The name "Kid" was given to him by the others after all. Once it became clear that he was seriously confused and probably did have no memories, she treated him as a fellow victim being manipulated by everyone else. Sara seemed to be chummy with You, who was definitely suspicious.

What do you mean the same amnesia?

She probably assumed at first that the Kid was faking it, and when it became clear decided he was just some amnesiac kid that Lemu had dumped into the place. Who knows where from.

Oh, Tsugumi. Why can't more tsunderes be like you?

She's more Kuudere imo.

Starts as one. She warms up enough to at least be tsundere by the time her route starts.

I like the way her character changes and how you can see the different ways she's thinking all throughout. Plus it's nice that it's never spelled out.

Goddammit, is there really going to be an Ever17 remake on the Xbox 360?

If so, WHY IS IT ONLY IN JAPAN?
