I also heard some "controversy" where Doomguy is actually Doomgirl, but I reckon that's hearsay.

EDIT: Just read the article, and the film is supposed to star a squad of UAC marines. Sounds like a Spiritual Successor to the 2005 film without the weird DNA bullshit.

Being straight-to-dvd is a thing and it could be an incredibly piss poor attempt #2, this time focusing too much on hell and demons and barely anything else (complete opposite of the 2005 film).

Still, I think it could be worthwhile. It was delayed because they wanted to fix/improve on sfx for hell scenes.

And who knows, if it does end up successful, it could open up for a big budget DOOM movie but I'm getting too hopeful.

Looks... like a fan movie? No post production effects.

Could be a fun Netflix evening but nothing of note. And it does look like it was filmed at the Doctor Who Quarry.

I checked the DOOM twitter and they say NOTHING about this. Edit: they made an official statement stating no involvement in the movie after making this post.

Is it really this easy to get the rights to make a movie adaptation of video games? I mean they must've gotten the green light from Bethesda or something.

In the end, it will be inconsequential. Myself tho I'm just neutral about this now. Nothing positive or negative.

I just wanted to say, this wait for more DOOM Eternal stuff, new information and gameplay videos or even a trailer, is making me anxious. My asshole is clenched super tight! Patience is a virtue and all that but still.

I really hope they start showing off new stuff after RAGE 2 (2 months!) releases.

I still ask what does Universal gain out of this. There is no real demand for a new DOOM movie, most fans didn't want this (and there's of course the certain kind of peeps objecting to female MC, the usual) and it is straight-to-video, a home release.

I mean yeah I know it's an ashcan copy but Universal doesn't know what to do with the film rights and is doing this just to keep it and let it rot until it's that time again (give another 14 years, the first film was released on October in 2005).

They're doing this out of spite? Some other nebulous reason?

Maybe I'm overthinking it too much. I'm sorry, I'm just confused by this. I'm open to explanations, theories, whatever if I got anything wrong.
