Oh god, what would happen to Buggy if Blackbeard grabbed him while he was in pieces? And would grabbing any piece of him nullify his power?
Luffy getting grabbed while in Second Gear just canceled it out — it noticeably reactivated a few seconds after Blackbeard was no longer touching him. Maybe grabbing Buggy would just force his parts back together, or something?
Speaking of which, I wonder how Brook managed to figure out what his fruit would do after he died... before he actually died. Might put what he had access to at that kingdom into perspective.

My guess is that Buggys pieces would still stay apart but he would become unable to control them, so all of them would just fall lifeless to the ground until Blackbeard lets him go.
The Devil Fruit encyclopedia I would assume.

I just thought about something, do we know who wrote it or where does the enciclopedia comes from? Was it written the goverment (and probably heavily controlled about its info) or is it from a free agent (maybe pirate or even Ohara several years prior to the buster call), making it a book not to read in the open?
If its not written by the Government, it was at the very least edited by them, Since it spreads the name Gum-Gum Fruit. (Actually, I guess we don't know that for sure)
Huh. I wouldn't be surprised if all historical or encyclopedic works have to be reviewed by the World Government for approval.

I always assumed there was no one author, and it was a compilation of Devil Fruit knowledge collected over the centuries.

Chapter 1084 talk:
Do many here highly believe Im and Lily are the same person? Sounds a little too obvious just going by Oda drawing a silhouette on Lily, as wild as it would be for it to turn out a Nefertari is a nasty mastermind behind the scenes.

I kept wondering why people thought Imu was Lily if Lily returned to Alabasta but then read the chapter myself and finally understood.
EDIT: Also saw the spoilers for new chap and you better believe you are going to want to avoid spoilers for this one if you care about that.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I guess people just really want another female villain.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I think one of the reasons For the "Imu is Lily" theory getting such traction is because they've been kept hidden, people think Imu's identity has to be impactful to the audience in some way.
Funny thing is, When Gear 5 and the truth about the Gum-Gum Fruit were revealed, there were accusations that it made Luffy "too special." Wouldn't Imu being Lily bring the same criticisms to Vivi? Or is it more okay because she's not the protagonist? (I'm just speaking hypothetically, I don't share that opinion about Luffy in the first place)

Oh come on, we literally have a separate thread for spoilers and leaks.
I'm not talking about leaks, I'm talking about the speculation and theories after the previous chapter. (1084)

For some reason, I forgot that 1084 was the most recent chapter, and 1085 is next week's chapter.
You know, if next volume ends on chapter 1075, then the volume adapting the current material could be set to end with the very next chapter.

Has Usopp never "Rubberband of Doom"'d anyone post time skip?
He's retired almost all of his pre-timeskip moves. One of the few that made a return is Fire Bird Star.

I wish that Plant guy had joined because Usopp lost most of his most awesome moves since he got his traits to make up for his absence.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Honestly, I don't think it's too much of a loss.
Most of Usopp's big moves with the OG Kabuto were Special Explosive Stars that are now redundant because of Skull Bombgrass or Exploding Pine Cones. I'm not shedding tears over the loss of Butterfly Meteor, Mantis Meteor, Viper Six Star, Sunflower Star, or Atlas Comet.
And many of his old moves have been replaced by Pop Greens that just do the same thing, but better. Sleep Star was replaced by Sleepgrass. Egg Star was replaced by Rafflesia. Caltrop Hell was replaced by Bamboo Javelin. Shuriken Shooting Star was replaced by Platanus Shuriken. Flash Dial was replaced by Firework Flowers.
His moveset hasn't really changed much, it's just now plant-themed.

Found some genderswapped fanart of Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji. Not gonna lie, it's not always easy to find Rule 63 art that bothers to keep the essence of the original character, but this comes pretty darn close.
And to go along with the big meme from the Barbie trailer, here's Robin and Franky getting arrested
Edited by Diana1969 on May 29th 2023 at 3:01:42 AM
Arrested for public indecency, probably. And Franky is thrilled.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt would've been funnier if Robin was the Ken to Franky's Barbie though.
Too real, that actually happened.

Personally, I kinda do think that the Joyboy/Nika stuff makes Luffy feel a bit too special. I guess it's just a style of writing Im not massively fond of. The whole "this character reminds me so much of this other character from the past it's like they're the second coming" thing. I'd rather Luffy be his own person not the long awaited sequel to another guy. It smacks too much of destiny and I just don't like it.
Kaze ni Nare!I've fought this fight too many times, so I'll just say I disagree with that interpretation and let it go.
My guess is that Brook soul would be ejected from his body, and would be unable to re-enter (and do much of anything) as long as Blackbeard holds him, considering his fruit is in his soul, not in his body (so no insta-kill).
