A few seconds after Asagi sends the dog back, the roar of a jet engine can be heard overhead, any one looking up would see This little guy with a fox clinging to its wings... once it gets overhead she parachutes down.

But the airplane itself keeps going on, doing a roll into a straight vertical climb, and spinning as it rises into the sky... providing a bit of a display.

Second Trial

Focused as he was on the hydra, Mitch still couldn't help but take the time to watch Ren get flown in by one of her fighter drones. Even the hundredth time around it remained an impressive display.

Second Trial

It is at this moment that Igno emerged from the water, now with a few extra chomp marks on him.

"Hey, guys, I got the sharks to go away, they won't be attackin' us!"

Second Trial

"Nice work!" Mitch gave Igno a good thumbs-up. He wasn't entirely sure the radsharks were going to be a problem, but it was very nice to know that they certainly wouldn't be.

Second Trial

Under the roar of the jet engines above, only one of the Hydra's heads notices what Igno said and stares at him. "What did you say about my dinner?" it asks. The other heads are momentarily distracted by the strange show going down above them.

Second Trial

Igno's smile faded ever so slightly as he heard the Hydra's question, a nervous laugh escaping his mouth as he tries to maintain composure.

"Oh, right, dinner, ah... I should go get them back, shouldn't I."

The Road

"That will do." Steel responded and let the conversation die stillborn despite their earlier arrangement toward chatting. He only agreed to it for the sake of exposition which he got and seeing the martial humanitarian isn't as chatty either he was content with the relative silence.

Or at least intended to be, if high pitched noise of some engine wouldn't intrude in his eardrums considerably loudly. He glanced up somehow spotting the glint of metal in the distant airspace as it put up an air show, basically marking its atmospherical territory.

Steel's head then tilted back and over the shoulder letting him scrutinize their entourage. All seemed as anxious as any other time he bothered to glance at them, whether now because of the roaring turbine or some other reason, that he didn't bother considering. It seems they are indeed stuck in a perpetual state of fright, as Antares told him.

"Aircraft are common 'round here, or we see a treat with this sight?"

Second Trial

The hydra's head looks from side to side and asks in almost a whisper "How much for 'em?" Clearly the hunger is getting to the clothed multi-headed serpent.

Second Trial

Igno shrugged, stepping back towards the water. "Iiii dunno, we'll see about that when I bring'em here, yeah? We'll, uh, we'll burn that bridge when we get to it!"

The hydra head goes "All right..." but is clearly looking famished. You might be able to get her attention if you actually provide her with something...

Second Trial

Rummaging through his digistruct deck for a few moments, Mitch produced a well-done steak.

For a moment he tried to remember exactly why and how he had cooked a steak and then popped it into his Digistruct, but then he shrugged it off. "Hey, catch!" He tossed the steak at the hydra head, and hoped they were agile enough to catch it.

The overhead jet then falls onto its back, and does a couple loops.... and various post stall maneuvers, intent on giving a bit of an airshow... one that no human would actualy be capable of doing due to the G-Forces involved.... but that plane sure the hell is.

The Road

Several minutes passed before Steel noticed the dull roar of a jet overhead. Antares took a second to look. "Well... I think that is a treat. This place got screwed over by whatever apocalypse happened here. And... that's not the ship, right Juno?"

"Nope," Juno popped. "That's not our jumpship."

"Wonder what that's doing out here, then? Another Guardian? Has to be with the moves they're pulling. Only a Hunter would fly like that."

Second Trial

The Hydra spots the steak flying out, and the hungriest head snatches it while swallowing in one incredibly fast gulp. She looks rather happy for a moment, and then its snakey eyes bug out and she begins hacking and gagging...before coughing out a really massive stone covered in really nasty looking gunk. Even as the stone hits the ground, you can hear a sizzling as the ground itself begins melting.

At this point the Hydra and all of its heads collapse to the ground, looking like they just ran a marathon or were clocked on the head.

"Whoa" kaiji says while looking at the out of cold reptile "Hope she wont be upset when she wakes"

Second Trial

Igno was just about to dive back into the water as he heard the Hydra collapse.

"Er, what'd you just feed her there, Mitch?" Igno asked, glancing back at the Hydra. "I mean, I thiiiink she's alright, but..."

Second Trial

"Aw, shit." Mitch withdrew a PDA from his Digistruct deck and immediately started flipping through it. "Please don't tell me I fed her what I just fed her, I thought that was the normal steak!"

Second Trial

Well, your digistruct deck DOES have one less steak on it, so you didn't feed her anything poisonous. At least, you don't THINK you did. It might have more to do with that weird text box projecting from that amulet you've got...

Second Trial

A moment later, Mitch realized exactly what the problem was.

"Oh. That was the steak I covered in ghost pepper spice that I was going to prank Chuck with. Well... shit."

Cautiously, Mitch approached the stone, which he was almost entirely sure was actually the hydra's heart.

Second Trial

The stone certainly SEEMS heart shaped. Or at least, shaped like a human heart. The nasty looking gunk that is eating through the ground is starting to give off fumes that do not look safe to breathe. It looks rather like swamp sludge at this point.

Second Trial

Reconstructing his helmet, Mitch attempted to lift the heart with the extra strength of his ARS, trusting in his shields to keep him alive long enough to make it over to the nearby lake and cool it off.

Second Trial

Luckily for you, this heart is not too heavy. And your ARS has the shields to keep the venom from eating through your arm like a ravenous termite colony on a picnic table.

Second Trial

Not taking the shields as an opportunity to get lazy, Mitch moved over towards the nearby lake and dunked the hydra's heart into it, taking a moment to relax after his conquest.

Second Trial

Congratulations, Scott Mitchell! You have obtained one Fresh Hydra Heart!

...You've also polluted a tiny portion of the lake, as the venom that had washed off leaves a visible circle in the lake water looking very discolored and reminding you of the Cuyahoga River. The fish are leaving visible ripples on the surface as they immediately move as far from that circle as they can. Fortunately for you, this problem should fix itself naturally.

...In about five or ten years, but it's not like you live here.

Second Trial

"...huh. I think I just polluted part of the lake."

Mitch frowned. "Eh. Not like it wasn't incredibly radioactive anyways. It'll sort itself out." Lifting the hydra heart up, he began heading back towards the Chadmobile, which hopefully had enough bed space to store it.
