You want a wildebeest for a pet? Chabal, I am disappoint; I would have expected you to go for a hippopotamus.
The Danse Macabre CodexPet implies domesticated, meaning losing those desirable meteorological qualities. Besides, as fierce as hippos are, they cannot stray far from their aquatic environment, limiting their efficiency severely.
So was Cypher mentioned any more in that book of yours?
Speaking of awesome animals:
Owls are silent death machines, and Scotsmen incomprehensible narrators.

Say, l3wt and lem, I have a question for the two of you: how would you pronounce the name 'Amlodhi', as in 'Amlodhi Skarssen Skarssensson'? Is it "Am-load-ee", or something like that?
The Danse Macabre CodexHrm, I'd say pronounce it straight fordward Am-lodee with like a silent "h" in there. The double "e's" are basically how we pronounce most of our "i" sounds anyway. But shit, that's not exactly a name I've ever heard before, though.

When in deadly danger, When beset by doubt, Run in little circles, Wave your arms and shout.Well, I wasn't entirely certain if it was a real name or not; it's the name of a Heresy-era Space Wolf, you see, and a lot of the terms they use in that series seem to be Norse or Auld Englisshe in origin—for example, jarl, skjald, wyrd, maleficarum, mjod, etc.
It was partway through asking my question that I realized it might not be within your area of expertise, but I figured it was worth a shot. Thank you for helping, L3wt.

The Danse Macabre CodexAt any rate, it looks like the name was made up by someone who's not very familiar with the language. "Skarsen Skarsensson" seems kinda reduntant/and or nonsensical if it means what I think it means.
When in deadly danger, When beset by doubt, Run in little circles, Wave your arms and shout.Yeah, I have to admit that the Skarssen Skarssensson aspect does seem a little silly; I mean, does that make him "Amlodhi Skarssen, son of Skarssensson (who is of course the son of Skarssen)"?
The Danse Macabre CodexI thought the Skarssen part looked weird, does that even mean anything?
No, it's even worse. All those "-sen" endings can be near synonymous with the "-son" endings. I'll leave you to figure out the ensuing lingual mind-screw this leaves us with.

When in deadly danger, When beset by doubt, Run in little circles, Wave your arms and shout. No easy way out by claiming it means grandson, I suppose.

When in deadly danger, When beset by doubt, Run in little circles, Wave your arms and shout.I'm pretty sure he's very happy that his own name is Amlodhi.

Still, at least he's not Canis Wolfborn. And imagine if they'd combined the two into Ulf Ulfsson.
Russians are more sensible with those patronymics.
...Well, now I'll never be able to take this character seriously again.
The Danse Macabre CodexSpehss Ulves are only to be taken seriously when fighting against them, otherwise it's ale, bragging, machismo and wenches more ale.
Also, I may or may not have mentioned this before but the Space Wolves don't refer to themselves as Space Wolves; when not in the presence of other Imperial forces, they call themselves either the Vlka Fenryka or simply the Rout. They also call the Fang the Aett.

The Danse Macabre CodexÆtt = clan, by the by, as far as I can remember. So I assumed it was their name for a type of unit, not a location...

When in deadly danger, When beset by doubt, Run in little circles, Wave your arms and shout. That makes sense, given their clan/tribe mentality; after all, it's the place where the Wolves come to weather the long Fenrisian winters.

The Danse Macabre CodexYeah, was why I asked.
...sounds like GW doesn't take these kinds of things that seriously.

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!^ A distinction is in order, I believe. If this is information from a codex then yes, GW is to blame, but if this was from a Black Library novel it is the writer and the editor who deserve getting smacked with a newspaper. There's a hierarchy to these things.
