So, the latest update may or may not have given certain crates a 100% chance to drop unusuals. Suffice it to say, the economy is going nuts. Most unusuals are now selling for under five dollars.
I missed the part where that's my problem. At least there was an update, albeit a very minor one.
Five dollars? I've seen unusuals go for half a dollar.
It's a right mess. I don't care for market much, but lots of people do and could find themselves put off from the game. Tinpot theories that this is either an attempt to get more devs to work on TF 2 or a way to gather attention for the upcoming Heavy Update feel like wishful thinking at best.

grahHearing that trading is disabled and people abusing the glitch will get punished somehow. This is a huge mess.
In other news, Gmod shitposting lord STBlackST posted a video last week.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? Here's a post from the dev team regarding the unusual market crash.
Tl;dr: the first Unusual you got will be free for you to trade - any excess of Unusuals will become untradable. Trade-locked unusuals can be refunded (presumably for a cost of a key to open the crate you got it from?)
Also this.
grahTF 2 story of the day: found a default enemy engie with Eureka Effect out on our side of the map on Landfall, chased him into a corner with the whip out. We had a bit of a conversation through voice commands.
As you may know, there are default battle cries and directed battle cries, just like crying out for Spy can be in general or by pointing at someone. So, Soldier goes "if you know what's good for you, you will run!"
Engie proceeds to retreat to his side of the map. I can't tell if he was too confused or what not. But that's why I love this game to bits; these entirely random, unscripted moments where people who may not even get what a "friendly" is play along anyway and everyone has a good laugh over it.
grahI just uncrated a Miami Nights Trash Man from Crate 77. First unusual in a long time. Miami Nights is a good effect but the Trash Man doesn't exactly go with everything.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? The prodigal son has returned.
Welcome back, siN!

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Soldier's voice actor, Rick May, has passed.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."And he died from Covid.
May he rest in peace.
We will certainly all cry some more ;_;
He was 79, had a heart attack last February, and was dealing with cancer, and it took a goddamn pandemic to take him down.
Rest in peace.
He was real good. Maybe even the best.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!i remember a quote from soldier where he told you that you only have one life, or several depending on your religion- either way, they're finite, so don't waste them.
guy was real good.. maybe even the best.
Like kitty0706 got a nice sendoff animation... I hope there's a nice sendoff animation for him as well.
Damn it, I don't even play TF 2, just indulge in all these zany random gmod/SFM videos and this...
Aanndd my day ends on a depressing note. Rest in peace, Rick May. Your voice performance as Soldier will live on with all us TF2 fans forever. [1]

"Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer"Rather depressing. Now any future Soldier lines added in the game won't feel the same anymore. At least he teleported bread.
I swear Loid, you can't draw worth shit!Bold of you to assume the game will update again.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Sad day for all. But at least his voice will keep him immortalised in one form.
Quite funny, seeing as Nolan North recorded that line for Soldier in Expiration date.

"I'm always alone. Sometimes I'm just alone by myself."Plenty of servers going full soldier and doing the shotgut taunt.
Rest in Peace Ricky May
So, apparently the TF2 (and CS:GO and possibly other Source games for that matter) source code got leaked, meaning there are now massive security vulnerabilities. Highly recommend avoiding the games until the issue is resolved.

I missed the part where that's my problem.Yeah, at this point I don't see the game surviving. This game saved my life... this hurts for me on a number of different levels and places. I really don't want to see it go.
If only we could put actual signatures here.
Matchmaking was terrible at first, but at this point I'd put it pretty on par with quickplay. Results may vary though, I'm sure it's slower if there are less players in your region.
