I've been watching a video about the really old, really terrible superhero movies from the days before Youbute, and mein gott, we still have so mcuh shit to plow through before we get any good anime live-action adaptations.
I mean for fuck's sake, the Batman from Tim Burton was considered the pinnacle back then.
Live action Steins;Gate coming soon!
This is a mistake
The only really good live-action anime adaptation I know of so far are the Rurouni Kenshin movies, which is really sad because the franchise is now tainted thanks to Watsuki being found with child porn a few years back.
I want to say that's was because it was made in Japan, but there's plenty of shit coming from that side of the pond as well.
And really, Rorouni Kenshin is a samurai story: without any supernatural elements it's easy to translate the fighting to live-action, Japan's movie industry already does plenty of samurai flicks anyway (I mean hell, that's what most people know Kurosawa for these days), and most importantly they're not really that expensive.
Real life Japanese villages were probably less durable than the sets based on them (them being made of mostly paper and wood), and the country has plenty of temples if the director feels like being authentic.
I remember them making a Terraformars live-action flick & obviously the CG did not look very good.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I really need to finish Ruroni kenshin at some point, but whenever i reach the parts past where I watched in the anime (the ones after Megumi joins the team) I start getting bored for some reason. Its not like I even go far in it, 3 pages in and I feel like reading something else

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI'm pretty sure there's a lot of filler in that anime.
Actually the filler is what killed the show.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Inuyashiki live action was good and the cg was very good. Same with Ajin.
Can't be worse than the C Gi in the show.
it actually looked good. And the action choreography is superb, reminded me of john wick. In general live action adaptation in Japan has been a lot better lately. Inuyashiki, Blade of the immortal, i am a hero, ajin, kingdom, the fable, library wars. It usually depends on the type of story and the crew. Anything by director Shinsuke Sato (library wars, i am a hero, inuyashiki, gantz, kingdom, bleach) is usually at least decent.
Of course, for every Kingdom there's also FMA. I usually looked at the director and screenwriters resume to see whether its worth seeing. Which is why, when I looked at promised neverland's live action director and screenwriter, I don't have much confidence.

I am so glad Meliodas vs Escanor is a thing, because finally we have a climatic battle even more terribly adapted than Naruto vs Pain!
I didn't think anyone could top that, but you did it, Studio DEEN! You once again showed why, if you find yourself at the bottom of a well, last thing you should do is start digging!
I mean, theoretically if you dig down, you might dig yourself into an underground tunnel and then find your way back to the surface from there.
...
One Strip! One Strip! Its not really studio DEEN. The show was pushed on them last minute and they hand to outsource it to another studio
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysIt was very nice of Sins to swoop in at the end of last year to show people who trashed One-Punch Man 2 (which at least had a number bright spots due to the titanic efforts of JC Staff's Kenichiro Aoki and the animators at Studio Lan) what a truly awful production looks like.
The fight in question.
Gonna read One Piece all the way from Chapter 1.
If I suddenly stop posting, just assume I went completely insane and know that I think you're all great folk that I'd love to meet IRL.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It is a long series, brutal in its chapter count. But you will not stop there.
Persevere and read, until it is done.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...X3 😒
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysHuh emoji's do work here. 👻
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Need help:
1. Anyone know a recent football anime that's not too long...or the closest?
2. So there’s Michiko, Cannon Busters, and Afro Samurai. Are there any other good anime out there with a black lead.....that’s written well?
3. What are good examples of black anime characters?
4. Black Base-Breaking Character ?
5. And what are just bad black anime characters in general.Besides Jynx.
- Gets dropped by Funimation
- Gets brigaded on MAL to reach the #2 spot
- Gets dropped by a channel that was airing it
- Gets more karma than MHA
Interspecies Reviwers is having one hell of a week, it seems.
Worth noting that Tokyo MX was the only channel still airing the censored version of Interspecies Reviewers. The whole thing seems to be 'yeah, we can't make this even remotely family-friendly, so let's not bother'. The uncensored one is the only one still being broadcast.
What's precedent ever done for us?
Not just any salt power, Yu is the King of Salt.
Which is apparently an actual biblical thing.
