I still remember getting a shiny Buzzwole in a trade that I'm pretty sure was a hacked mon, since it had a dumb nickname that was basically a website URL ("machamps.com" or something like that). I wasn't even looking for a shiny Buzzwole in particular, I just wanted to trade a Pheromosa for a Buzzwole.

I'm still debating on whether or not to transfer my Magearna from Sun, since you can't really get it anywhere else in that game...

I have multiple magearna if you need one to used.

Doesn't really matter if the Pokemon is hacked honestly so long as it isn't hacked so badly as to straight up be untradeable.

Forget implied. PLA has Arceus outright confirm that, that it's just giving you a small piece of itself to act as an avatar.

Guess that explains the "1,000 arms" mentioned in a lot of Pokedex entries.

The hacked Mons in the GTS cause hard crashes/freezes.

To elaborate on what said, it’s not “crash if you trade for them”, it’s “even viewing them being on offer on the GTS crashes the game.”

on the GTS but the ones from wonder trade are fair game even if they are hacked.

Wonder Trade wasn’t safe at a point either. I remember it being brought up that some people were receiving Bad Eggs.

but not in gen 7 so that's not an issue.

I mean, you cannot really complete a Dex on Wonder Trade alone, so it's still a pretty big problem.

And it is just a shame on Nintendo's part, that they completely neglected the 3DS Games after the jump to Switch, and allowed Hackers to just run rampant and ruin the fun for everybody, despite many paying customers being still interested in the games.

All this talk makes me wonder if the 3DS games could ever get a port in the Switch.

If they are untradable then we won't get them to begin with, lol

But there are some hacks that are tradable, but are clearly badly made hacks. For example, shiny event mon without their ribbons. The "website-nicknamed" mon on the other hand, are more unusable (due to the nickname) than untradable, so for most people (including myself), instead of trading them away, we just release them on the spot after taking the hold item.

I mean they pretty much always jump ship to the newer games and that could basically be said of most companies. I don't think it's really fair to be upset at them for not focusing on older games when the newer ones are where the money is at and what people are focusing on.

@Cross when was this? As bulbapedia says it's impossible to trade a bad egg in the gen 6&7 games.
