Garcon: That is terrifyingly high risk. It would thin the casing and reduce the fragmentation effect but yes you could very carefully shave down the outer casing. Though I would not want to be in the shop when its under way.

Canadian DND release a new white paper on defence.
Among the things that intrigued me (aside from modernizing hardware and recruiting/retaining) is creating a fourth command, mostly for cyber. If realized, Canada becomes the fifth country to have a cyber command that's separate (IIRC this is afer Germany, Norway, Singapore, the US and China).

The ROK Cyber Operations Command is a command directly under the Ministry of National Defense, but not a separate branch on the level of the army, navy, air force, or marines, so it's more similar to the US Cyber Command than the other examples you listed

Strange as I was told that the equivalent of other countries having separate cyber commands is the Space Force. But the US military does have an inter-service Cyber Command.

Yeah, it is a bit hard to directly compare different countries' military organizations, especially when some have the service branches more closely integrated (e.g. Israel, Canada, China...), and in others, they are more separate (the US, the ROK, etc). In the former, a command directly under the defense ministry/chief of staff would be like a separate branch, in the latter, that would be a joint unit with members from all branches but very different from being a separate branch in itself.

For the CAF, I've read their white papers and it implies that the cyber command can be separate as they'll integrate units/personnel that have specialities in cyber.

There's a DW article on why the UAE's idea of having a foreign legion of its own is a problem.
It started with job ads launched by a private security company Manar Military Company. The owner is ex-French special forces and has links to a rich family in Abu Dhabi.
If anything, the UAE military wants to model this after the FFL.

US Navy fired SM3 Missiles that reportedly intercepted Iranian fired ballistic missiles.
Basically two US ships fired several missiles to intercept ballistic missiles fired at Israel. These are supposedly the first time these missiles have been used in combat.
