It's probably not that intrusive.
I find it a lot more tedious when a character mutters to himself. I recently tried to play the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but god, Geralt is cooooonstantly chattering to himself
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youDecisions. On one hand, the game is by all appearances excellent and I love open-world superhero games. On the other, massive backlog.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.The deluxe edition is just the game with the upcoming DLC included though it's not on file and will come with an update. Both the game + DLC and deluxe edition cost the same. Companies should still wait for the game to be out before releasing DLC, it makes them come off as greedy and impatient.
The quipping isn't that bad and clever at times. I disagree with him on being aware of who these characters are. It makes getting attached to them hurt though it's not surprising when it happens. I will agree that Spider-Man doesn't separate itself from its inspirations but the genre never really did so to begin with. Enemies can be as dumb as rocks. Playing as other characters is refreshing but underwhelming. Been watching streams with the Spider-Sense not going off and I can't tell.
Still hate his vulgarity. Why am I here?

Russ Pitts explains why the site is down.
Just a person. He/him.Good question. If you don't like crude humor, then you really shouldn't be watching Zero Punctuation.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I have to say, I don't really care much for the crude humor either. You can only hear so many shit jokes before they all start becoming the same joke.
Optimism is a duty.Well, he's not going to stop making them, so...
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I know, I just ignore them.
Optimism is a duty.Kind of tricky when they have such a large presence online and You Tube won't stop putting their videos in the "Up Next" section.
I meant the shit jokes, not the show. :p
Optimism is a duty.Well, my problems are different than yours. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Almost four days later, and the Escapist's site is still broken. I'd heard they were a shell of their former selves, but wow.
I'm getting an insecure page now with text only, it won't load beyond there.
Yahtzee's videos seem to be working, at least partially.

Optimism is a duty.I normally don't like crude humour, but Yatzhee makes it work somehow, at least half the time. I think it's the inventiveness, the fast pace (when there's a bad joke it's instantly forgotten) and how he can still make it sound like a stream of consciousness even though I know very well it's scripted. And they are at least somewhat relevant to the topic at hand.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Plus, some of the jokes are brilliant.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayMany of the jokes are literally laugh-out-loud, snort drinks out of my nose funny. It's why I love him so much. His opinions are often apt, but that's not really the point of watching the videos.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I haven't been into video games since early college, but I still watch ZP every week just because it's funny and sometimes informative.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI still watch ZP because Yahtzee hasnt really done anything to anger me yet. Pure inertia really.
I absolutely love Yahtzee's humor. The rapid-fire pace combined with British dry snark really does a number on my funny bone. I also like the actual critique, whatever else you might say, Yahtzee is a guy for whom I can always be sure he's not shilling or offering anything but his sincere opinion. After a while, learning to parse his speech in order to find out how good a game actually is through the deliberate nitpicking is kinda fun.

Website is still broken. Time to switch to You Tube, I guess.
Optimism is a duty.Gotta say the dick joke in the middle was top tier.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.He's really not a fan of this new Lara Croft, but I can't blame him. The main complaint seems to be that she never expresses any agency, breathlessly exclaiming that she's "got to" do everything, like she has no independent choice. That and she's a psychotic murderer, but this is familiar to us by now from such games as Uncharted.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Isn't that just Chronic Hero Syndrome?
Optimism is a duty.
Nope, but Marvel's Sony's Steve Ditko's Spider-Man is up on YouTube. Yahtzee's been playing indie games so much recently that he's forgotten how AAA games dick us around to pay for "deluxe editions". The movie analogy is apt: they don't make you pay more in theaters to see the director's cut version, although now that the idea is out there, I'm sure someone will try it.
He thinks that the web-swinging is good in this one, but he finds a lot of the other gameplay elements tedious. I'm honestly surprised that he doesn't talk about the quipping. Now, I haven't played the game, so I don't know if it's obnoxiously repetitive, but he's slagged it in every other game with a smart-ass superhero, especially other Spider-Man games. So is it somehow not a problem here, or did he run out of time?
