I had previously thought that they were awesome for contributing so much to music, but I didn't really see them as my thing (I'd never really LOVED a Beatles song before this, I was just impressed with them as historical achievements).

At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

Listening to it with headphones is a whole other trip.

In the grand scheme of things we are nothing at all, so let’s enjoy life to it’s fullest and enjoy TV Tropes.

Part of what makes "Revolution No. 9" so amazing is that it comes from the same band that gave us "Please Please Me" and "Love Me Do"; the diversity of the Beatles' musical styles, and the fact that they (and their label) were willing to put it on an album is pretty audacious.

As far as worst Beatles song ... ufff. Some of their covers are amazing — "Twist and Shout," "Words of Love" — but others are just workable; I'd throw in "Chains" and "Kansas City / Hey, Hey, Hey" on the lower end when ranking their songs. The George Martin instrumental tracks that show up on soundtracks are nice, but if we include them in consideration, would also rank low. Of the Beatles originals, I'm actually not that big on "Please Please Me," but some of that has to do with the mastering; the singing, songwriting, and musicianship is wonderful, but the overall effect seems harsh on my ears.
