Some might remember Kaijū Iro no Shima, that I mentionned before. Well, they made an animated PV for the release of the first volume. surprised

[up]Ooh, that looks interesting. Looks like I have a new manga to check out. surprised

[up][up],[up][up][up]: Oh, right. I forgot about the exact details on how Sakura saved Shamiko. smile

And done. Still enjoyable the second time around, and later reveals made for quite the Rewatch Bonus on some of the old gags.

Looking forward to the next volume this April. smile

[up]There are definitely scanlations, but I don't know if it's been officially localized.

[up][up] Yep, on Dynasty. The chapters are very short, so you’ll be caught up quickly.

So I started reading an ecchi Yuri manga called Housewife x JK, about a Highschool girl who secretly has an affair with her best friend's married mother.

I just finished I Favor The Villainess/I'm In Love With The Villainess, and overall, I thought it was pretty solid! Inori sure as heck doesn't shy away from going big with the scope of the plot, even if her prose doesn't quite bear up under the weight; the manga, from what I've seen, does a good job of letting scenes breathe a bit more, so I'll be looking forward to how that progresses. Even so, overall, I thought it was very charming.

It's been fun.

The plot certainly shifts scope surprisingly well, and that's some nice long-term planning in the plot.

[up][up]You mean all current WN? Or just the printed one? I heard there is a prettyy big twist around vol. 17 of WN.

@Nacht: The printed version of the light novel. I'm also not sure there's enough content for there to have been 17 volumes (aside from the sequel/continuation), so maybe we're not thinking of the same series?

It's been fun.

[up]Yeah. I was talking about sequel. It is still the same story and last time I checked WN, it was divided in 20 volumes or so (original story+sequel). I cannot read JP, but I thought, maybe someone here can.

One chapter of the WN is not one volume of the LNs. I think it'll end up as around 5 volumes total?

I've read the entirety of the WN version, and, uh, RedSavant's comment is very accurate to it. It goes places, but Inori's prose isn't always up to the task. I hope the manga gets all the way to the end; I don't think I was able to properly appreciate some of the later events

For clarity's sake, the end of the printed Light Novel volume 2 is Claire and Rae settling down in their new house with May and Aleah. And yeah, the plot is dramatic, but Inori's pacing is blazing fast. Sometimes it's okay to get stuck into the details! Especially for romance scenes. I will say that the manga adaptation of the scene where Claire asks Rae what she finds likeable about her (early on in the dorms) was much more atmospheric than the prose version, so I hope that carries on.

It's been fun.

I've been enjoying the manga, haven't actually read the LN, read a way into part two of the WN before deciding I didn't want to be following an unfinished story and went off to check other stuff. The manga's definitely helping a bit with the atmosphere. [lol]

I think the thing that really drives home just how "tell, don't show" Inori's prose is is how the reveal near the end of Book 1 about Lene and her brother just comes out of nowhere, in a paragraph maybe five lines long, that also serves as pretty much an introduction for the relevant character, while he's busy doing something else that's also a plot infodump. And the character in question is hardly mentioned at all before that.

It's been fun.

I personally was fine with it. You could blame majority of L Ns with the same.

Checked the translated chaptrers of Kaijū Iro no Shima. Looks pretty interesting so far and there are some unexpected develpments. I also liked the artstyle. To bad fan traslation is pretty irregular and there don't seem to be any plans to license it, it seems.

[up] The first compiled volume isn’t even out yet (it’s a quarterly release) so it’s gonna take time, I’m afraid. ^^"

Judging by the PV, it came out a couple of days ago. I wonder, what took them so long? It is being publisherd since 2018 and is from pretty well-known mangaka.

Like I said, it’s a quarterly release, and chapters are 10-15 pages long. Even after almost two years, there’s just barely enough content to fill a single volume.

Oh, I missed the meaning at first. Pretty slow, considering that chapters are this short (normally you get such chapters with weekly manga).

Is mangaka busy with a bunch of other projects? I see, he has a bunch of manga, but not sure if he makes a few simulationosly.

Even If It Was Just Once, I Regret It finished. Pretty cute, one panel where the artist accidentally drew three arms aside. Miss Landlady has an adorable design.
