Cuz game-overs are a failure of the game designer.
fuck RP Gs that lead you into selecting the wrong dialogue so you instantly die, unwinnable encounters are the worst
New theme music also a boxSo, this is unpleasant, but for those who are unaware, the reason the Yakuza LPs are on hiatus, is because co-commentator Little V, well, his mother is dying of cancer. It's pretty sad. Actually, Ross from GameGrumps announced at about the same time that his mother had died of cancer. Just bad news all around.
Here, to lighten the mood, have a clip of Woolie laughing at Lifeline.

Oh, that's really terrible for Little V. My condolences to him and the rest of his family.
Oh, fuck. I'm sorry for him and his family. I hope that they recover from this in due time.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Ahh, I knew the situation was bad, but didn't realize it was that bad.
Matt's doing Resident Evil: VILLAGE and I actually am not going to watch it as I do want to experience this game blind.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.A lot of the time when Matt does an episode about a game, he cuts out a lot of content and just shows the highlights. This however is a complete and unabridged playthrough of the game.
Meanwhile Pat made two part-time work hour length streams about Village and I got to enjoy all the twists and turns with him.
Disregard what I said about Matt's playthrough of RE8 Village. It started out being uncut, but as time went by he's since cut out all the filler and now each episode is basically a highlight reel of each segment of the game.
Has Woolie given up on his playthrough of Ghostrunner, or does he have plans to finish it?

It's not that long of a game to begin with.

Paige has made her VTuber debut
Dunno if I should post this in the VTuber thread too, lol
...Wait, what?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. It's exactly what you think it is. Thanks to the efforts of Paige, Pat, and a bunch of other artists, riggers, and friends, Paige now has a VTuber avatar she can use. According to her, it was an anniversary gift, and she won't be using it exclusively; she said that we'll still see her real tuber form.
Dunno if I can say anything else that would make it clearer :p

New theme music also a boxRemind me if you could be so kind: why does Pat like tank controls again?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I assume it's because he adored Resident Evil 2 as a kid, but I don't remember if he's actually likes tank controls outside of RE.
They may be one of those kinds of control schemes that are good for certain kinds of camera layouts.
I don't know if this is why Pat specifically likes tank controls, but the whole point of that control scheme is that your controller movements work relative to what direction the character is facing, independent of the camera angle. So if the camera changes from one perspective to another, left still moves the character to their left, and so on.
Yeah, like I said, good for certain kinds of camera layouts. It's better than what a lot of games do sometimes where they have a camera angle one way, then you go through a door and pressing "forward" still makes them turn backwards and go back through the door.
Woolie and pals hear the news about who's developing the new Star Wars game.
The chemicals in his brain didn't take it well.

About humorous failures: Telltale, no, because all their failures lead to game overs. David Cage though? Hell yes.
