Well, it's going to have to battle a lot more to get to that point, though this could mean so much for it's development in the future. If Grookey evolves, maybe that could help his new teammate get more motivated too.

This might be the only time a main character's mon wanted to evolve and actually did in fact evolve.

And ended up not liking the result..

Inteleon is the best final form of the Galar starters so being disappointed in not becoming one is valid.

Especially when the middle stage traps you in that awkward emo phase.

The weird thing about Go's starters all evolving is because a lot of Ash's didn't...and Go isn't even a battler. It honestly feels like Go is what people wanted Ash to be in Season 1 (just capture everything, have the starters all evolve), and now that we have it with a new character it's just meh. It really puts into perspective the writers had it right all along how they handled Ash in the earlier seasons, and you saw how he gradually improved with each passing series.

Problem is this all happened over literally years/decades (after all 1998-2021 is a long time), and most of the original fanbase drifted off in the early 2000's so they never saw it.

I just think the fandom has no fucking clue what it wants is the real answer. Because I love both of them.

Vastly prefer Rillaboom over the other two.

Or different people have different opinions? I not even opposed to Goh's goal, but the execution has irked me for while.

As someone on the more positive side of Ash and Goh and Journeys, I think they should have him combine these goals in the 9th anime.

Have him capture all the Pokemon of a region over the course of the series and split the Pokemon up into different categories.

• The five he wants to bring with him into battle.
• The side who has their own side goal that doesn't have to do with Ash winning a league, but can still help out Ash on his adventures and training.
• The third with filler episodes or just there for research with the professor.

Cuz honestly, you can make a season for Ash where he aims to be a Pokemon Master and catch all the Pokemon, without any side or recurring characters.

Hey, it's not the show's fault Gullotine's Execution rate is only 30%. Bad jokes aside, Cross some of the vitriol has been a bit overblown. At the very least, there's been times where it's done really well, times where it wasn't, and some people act like the whole thing is awful.

Someone pointed this out on Zac's Unova League Review, but having Ash vs Vergil in the Top 4/Finale would've been great, especially since the final match could've been Ash's Pikachu and Vergil's Eevee, leaving the demon slayer's adorable mon to evolve into Syvleon as promotion for XY, shock everyone, and be a cool callback to Ash vs Harrison. 

Honestly I’d love to see that, and any legendaries used would be temporary for Ash so he’d have them by his side for a bit.

Yes we're finally getting an Oak's lab episode. We're going to see Ash's older pokemon again, and Go will see them too. I guess everyone will be there except the Alola pokemon (unless Ash tells Oak to call Kukui and transfer them over from Alola), Goodra (unless Ash calls to bring it from Kalos), and Greninja (who likely won't appear till later in the series). Ash's Squirtle could go either way, it got a brief 1 second cameo visiting in the Alola ep they went to Oak.

With all this fanservice lately, I gotta ask: Have we seen Ash's Pidgeot yet?

Pidgeot and Primeape died on the way back to their home planets.

So Ash's Dragonite vs. Iris' Dragonite huh.

Let them fight.

My money's on Dragonite.

I want Iris’ to win because while it’s a clone of Indigo League Charizard, at least it has a personality.

It was listening to her by the end of Best Wishes.

Will we see Axew as haxorus ?

I would not be shocked if she has her game team.

Most certainly since otherwise, you would see Axew in her hair already.

Plus, Axew did dream that it will evolve all the way back in 2010.
