You're also almost guaranteed to get certificates after completing key missions for the first time, and are guaranteed to get them after most story missions.

i hate the fact that they mixed level 2 credits with level 1 credits , instead of getting arms X2 , you can get arms or arms x , or even a certificate that you won't need by that point in the game , sigh

So after having a little more time with this game and getting past the shock...

...I'm actually starting to get into the storyline, just a little.

Cheesy? Yes. Cliche? HELL YES. But it's growing on me. Like a pleasant sort of tumor. The classmate missions have been very entertaining for the most part.

It's also helping that it appears the next game isn't following this "school yard" theme, so I can appreciate this on its own instead of worrying of further degradation.

Also, annoying though the grinding is, the gameplay is aces. It's actually more addicting in the setup this game uses. Much friendlier for playing the game in its entirety over multiple sessions.

The farming for credit is the worst part of the game. So far my two biggest grind for them was 3 days for certificate so Randy can become a anthem engineer and Support II X so Nichol can become a elite sniper.

Didn't get any for them in the end but other character I am not actively trying to farm for did qualify so I ended up ditching Randy and have Lotte becoming an elite sniper and Nichol a heavy scout.

Nichol is a craptastic scout, though Lotte is an abosolute monster as elite sniper, if she can see something she can kill it.

Is that unusual? Barring nonsense like Fog, both of my Snipers are very good shots. When Helmut says that he doesn't miss, he isn't kidding.

Once I get one more March X my main squad will all be 2nd job classes. The trick to getting certificates is to make sure that the character you want to have get a certificate is deployed and does at least one credit-earning action during a key or story mission. I generally also try to have them place second or first in contribution.

I was kind of hoping that he would get himself killed (or at least crippled) so he could be replaced with a less insane protagonist, but unfortunately nothing that unexpected happened. At least, not yet. I haven't quite stopped hoping.

I just finished the first battle with Dirk and the Artificial Valkyrur

Holy shit...Le Douche spent the entirety of the first game working on that and had to use an entire arena of generators to power one. And it was stolen and perfected by a bunch of rednecks! I swear, that guy can't catch a break.

^ It wasn't stolen. Where do you think the rebels are getting their funds?

^^Frankly, Avan isn't the one that concerns me. He's crazy, but at least he isn't, say, a racist who orgasms at the sight of guns or a religious fanatic who experiences visual and auditory hallucinations, like some of the other squad members.

I said that I could hazard a guess as to what the "SupRes" rating on uniforms does, but the more I think about it, them more baffled I am.

I would have thought that it would reduce the damage you take from interception fire in some way, but since even weapons that don't have that ability have a "Suprss" rating, I'm not sure that's true. Furthermore, since it's a letter rating rather than a number, I don't know how to tell what the difference is between each level.

And, finally, observing V2s and Gunners in battle has led me to believe that interception fire is a completely different mechanic to a regular attack.

My kingdom for some better documentation!

Suppression is a status ailment that almost every gun is capable of giving. It raises the AP cost of movement, and exists for interception fire to sometimes slow you down. Most guns have a pretty low chance, but some have it pretty high, especially Engineer pistols. That's what the letter rank on weapons means. For the armor, it's just the chance of resisting that status ailment.

What I want to know is how people like that get into Lanseal in the first place, lowest-of-the-low bottom-of-the-barrel cannon fodder in Class G or not.

Weird, I've never noticed that at all. How much does it decrease your movement range?

They let Avan in. The applications are obviously handled by someone who isn't much brighter than him.

Also, who better to send on suicide missions?

I still want to know why Lanseal, a supposedly elite and hard to get into military academy, has a class of nothing but fuck ups. You'd think they wouldn't put up with students that, say, never work or beat the crap out of each other.

See my previous post. Also, it's nice to have an idiot class to make every other class look good.

Fair enough, and since the school has to double as a military during a civil war, presumably they have to drop their standards just to keep the ranks full.

It is odd though.

They actually explain why Class G exists later in the game.

A lot. At least a 50% reduction.

Yeah, I've had characters go from a full movement bar to nothing in a few steps because of AP waste.

Speaking of suicide missions, what the hell is up with August's story battle? My forces got so thoroughly torn asunder on the enemy's first turn that I thought maybe I was supposed to lose, but no, sure enough, Mission Failed; go to the Academy menu, go directly to the Academy menu, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 ducats. I don't even know how it might be possible to win.

^ i died once ; because dirk guard the supply truck , he can kill even fencers

i just shot him twice with the tank when he's not energized and he's gone , the mission is much easier after that, since i don't defend i kill all the enemies and take over the camps ,also the october mission is much harder

No reason to grind them unless you find you need them or are like me and tend to powerlevel everyone.

For August mission I found that it is a heck a lot more winnable is I retreated Avan right away. That way I don't take all the interception fire from Mini Dark Vader at get go. After that, capture the camp on the same map in the stadium on the right, spawn a lancer to take out the APC to neuter the V2 and have Avan end his turn in a grass. With him in crawl and as elite fence he can take Dirk attack without problem. Once it my turn, I got Drik right next to a camp and whole bunch of CP to kill him with. The spec tech really shine in this mission with their flash grenades to cut down interception fire from V2s.
