Way to completely misunderstand the entire tactical shooter genre there.

Well he's talking about WWII when the Chinese bomb pearl harbor and they commuted suicide by running their planes into the ship.

Tactical Shooters focus on the principles of small squad on squad combat with a second focus on realism, or at least tactical planning. Modern Warfare II isn't a tactical shooter, its a FPS focusing on multiplayer mode with an excuse plot for the game that focused more on a hypothetical World War III scenario. Modern Warfare I focused on some element of terrorism, but basically Al-Asad was a stand in for Saddam and Iraq and focused on the idea of what if a Middle-Eastern radical dictator got a WMD, and if Russia completely collapsed as a country. Some people love realism, and like knowing that every single minor detail is paid attention to, and that includes with modern combat.

Medal of Honor appears to be the first game to truly focus on the principles of insurgency and Afghanistan, rather than focusing on a World War III scenario.

As for the multiplayer component, it isn't very offensive. I played the beta, and my first reaction was that, "HEY FRIEND I BLEW YOU UP WITH A CELLPHONE" not sombre.

In my opinion, Tier 1 appears to be tactical, Tier 2... isn't.

Basically, Tacshooters are stuff like the original Rainbow Six games and SWAT 4.

Half-Life: Dual Nature, a crossover story of reasonably sized proportions.

It's split into two, but I may be reversing the Tiers.

Tier 1 is special ops stealthy stuff. Tier 2 is normal warfare.

And yes, I forgot about the first Ghost Recon. Good stuff. SOCOMUS Navy Seals also goes under ehre. >.>
