What are Aura's abilities again?

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.

She can only use the basic Fullbring ability to manipulate the souls that are in every thing. But her ability to do that is so high that it borders on Reality Warping. She manipulates the soil, the water, and even the air in the atmosphere. Also the cells in her body, her blood and bones. In practice she transmutates the chemical elements that make up the world and their bonds. For example, she can form a barrier out of the nitrogen in the air. Though despite this, there is one strange ability that doesn't fit the MO at all. By praying to the Soul King, she can summon a Chtullu-esque creature.

If I had to compare her abilities to any other ability, I would say, it is the Fullbring equivalent of Gremmy's Visionary. There are btw tons of parallels between these two and given Gremmy's importance in the novels, I think they are intentional.

Aura doesn't have an actual Fullbring though. Because she was locked up in an empty basement for the first ten years of her life, she is unable to form any kinds of bonds, be it with humans or objects. Nothing in this world brings her joy.

It's implied that any Fullbringer could technically do what she does and that the appearance of someone of her is the reason Fullbringer were created in the first place, so that someone could change the system set up by the Shinigami. She also has part of the Soul King inside her. But what that allows her to do is so far unknown.

So does the final volume come with any extra features?

Part 15 of the second novel has been machine translated. It is the last part of the volume and ends with Shinji activating Bankai. A few sketches have already been leaked. Volume three will come out together with Bleach Jet on December 4. Yonkou Productions, an incredibly reliable source regarding Jump-related things, has also teased that something big and revitalizing may happen with the Bleach franchise, either with Bleach Jet or the upcoming Jump festa.

Regarding Volume 3. It will reveal at least another Bankai and is 500+ pages long. It may or may not be the conclusion of the Tokinada story.

Here are the current infos. As always, things may be mistranslated.

     Part 15
- Kyoraku can't act against Tokinada, since what he is doing isn't exactly a rebellion against Soul Society itself. The nobility furthermore has too much authority for that and all Kyoraku has currently, are suspicions. So he has to involve other people as his soldiers.

- Tsukishima can see how much of a past someone has, even before stabbing someone. That way he had figured out that the Mayuri currently with them is just a meat puppet he controls externally. The true Mayuri is somewhere else. Mayuri did that because he was cautious of Tsukishima.

- Kenpachi still remembers Nnoitra very well. According to him, Grimmjow is now about as strong as Nnoitra used to be. Apparently Grimmjow was also conscious during the entire Nnoitra fight.

- Grimmjow still wants to fight Ichigo and only cooperates if he can do that. Shunsui tells him, that this is up to Ichigo. Harribel interrupts, still suspicious of him, as she remembers all too well what happened to Starrk and confronts Shunsui about his tendency to commit evil for the greater good.

- Urahara was the one who created the The Tenkai Kecchu, the FKT pillars. Yamamoto had banned them, but lifted the ban at some point during the Arrancar Saga. Tokinada stole one and created smaller, less potent versions of them, that on the other could be mass produced. He used them and Yukio's Fullbring, which apparently has gotten strong enough to cover all of Karakura town, to transport and connect the city to a particular large Valley of Screams.

- Shuutara has made sure that the Tenkai Kecchu could never be used against the Soul Palace.

- The difference between Tokinada's faction and Hisagi is roughly the same as the difference between Season One Ichigo and Byakuya.

- Tokinada also wants to gather more allies. People have speculated that he is talking about Sternritter still loyal to Yhwach or the three remaining OG Espada.

- Tessai is able to send him to Tokinada's hideout, but before that he wants to know why Hisagi wants to fight a battle he can't win. It's not to save Urahara (whom he is willing to abandon or even kill depending on the situation), to protect peace, to be a hero, to make sure those who died in the war didn't die in vain, for the thrill of battle or to ensure the future. Hisagi doesn't know why. When Hiyori asks him he says this: "You see, if I stop here, if I try to escape the fear that I hold on to, in order to remain a Shinigami, then, I'd feel as if Captain Tosen's soul has disappeared from within me. My reason is....something like that....I'm sorry, you probably think I'm immature..."

- Hisagi goes. Yuki and Shino go with them. Hiyori stays because they have to cancel the barrier, which is vulnerable against Hollow Reiatsu.

- Shinji's Bankai is Sakashima Yokoshima Happoufusagari (Wicked inverted blockade from all directions). It has an insanely huge range and it can affect friends and allies alike. Noting else is known about it, beside it being about reversal. But the way Shinji talks about miracles, may imply that Kubo intended to use it against Gerard. Whether that would have been successful or not, will probably be forever unknown.

- Shinji uses it against masses of Hollows with the ability to absorb the Reishi in the Valley of Screams to multiply. These Hollows are Adchujas class and posses sentience and intellect and can fight through coordination, which makes them very vulnerable to Sakanada. They number in the thousands and were created by Hikone and his Zanpakto.

- Sakanade can manipulate sound too, so it is not entirely optical. We saw that when Shinji reversed his speech. If he had trained more he could even reverse temperature. What makes Shinji so dangerous is that he only gives a partly explanation of his abilities, so once someone thinks they got used to it, he will reverse something else or even reverse the reversal. You need to be on Aizen's level to successfully adapt to it (or be Bambietta).

- Kyoraku compares Shinji's Bankai to his or the Bankai of the seventh Kenpachi, Kenpachi Kuruyashiki (from the novel Spirits are forever with you). His Bankai Gagaku Kairo caused a gigantic jaw with fangs to open up in the ground, crushing and devouring everything in its way. He lost to the eight Kenpachi because so many other people were nearby and C46 had banned it from using it. Shinji's Bankai is not banned btw.

- Hikone was made from the corpses of the Quincy and Shinigami Tokinada had gathered during the war and also from humans. This may or may not imply that one has to be part Quincy/Shinigami/human to be the Soul King.

- The Soldat were ordered to kill the four noble families and while there were many causalities in the end, Aura had killed all the Quincy attacking them.

- Aura and Tokinada are the "parents" of Hikone.

- Tokinada is many things, but he is not sexist and doesn't objectify women. Tokinada is also chaste, since he considers Kakyo his only parter.

- Tokinada has two Zanpakto. Neither are his and both had been stolen. One is Kuten Kyokoku that belongs to the Tsunayashiro family, the other is an unknown Zanpakto he had stolen from a Shinigami who was not living in Soul Society. He used the second one to infiltrate Oetsu's palace and steal the hybrid Zanpakto.

- Tokinada implies that there were greater forces at play that lead to Ichigo's birth, than just Aizen. Though he calls one of these forces the 'miracle of love'.

- The group invading the Valley of Screams splits up. Kenpachi, Grimmjow and Candice storm off to attack some of the Hollows. Shinji leads most of the Hollows created by "Barragan's" "Hooler" far away from the rest to use his Bankai without consequences. Ginjou, Giriko and Tsukishima are off on their own. The rest stays together.

- Giriko can create barriers that cannot be attacked for a duration of 20 seconds. Everyone who tries gets punished by the gods of time and disintegrates, since that would be a breach of contracts.

- Ginjou locates Yukio. He can locate everyone whom he has given part of his power, not matter how much they hide.

- The reason Yukio is allies with Tokinada is because of Ginjou's "wish". But before they can talk more, Aura attacks Ginjou.

So Shinji's Bankai is basically The Same Except More to his Shikai? Kinda bland, really.

I still wonder how much of this would've been in the manga if not for Kubo's illness. This stuff's not an epilogue, it's an entire new final arc.

I think the general idea of the story was supposed to be in the final arc. Namely that there was a great force collecting parts of the Soul King to rule over the world, be it the current one or the previous one. The might of this force was so great that the four factions - Gotei 13, X Cution, Hueco Mundo, Vandenreich - had to create a genuine alliance and that would result in them entering an era of peace.

The remaining six days of the Quincy prophecy would have been used for that. Though I'm not sure who this great threat would have been. It could have been Yhwach, but maybe it was someone else, like the Soul King or Ichibee or maybe Kubo had intended to let the heads of the five noble families to enter the fray, just that it wasn't the guy who had killed Tosen's friend.

Comments Kubo made in interviews and such and moments from the interview seem to indicate that the original sin, Urahara's shadiness, Ginjou's past, Rangiku's connection to the Soul King, Shinji's and Hisagi's Bankai, Gremmy's brain and of course who had survived, would have been included.

The sketches for the second volume have been released:

https://vk.com/x.bleach?z=photo-24229762_456252629%2Fwall-24229762_351269

In order: A sketch of the Cover with Hikone, Shinji activating Bankai, Jinta and Ururu watching as Urahara tries to scam Hisagi, Aizen telling Tosen about the original sin, Hikone and Ikomikidomoe, Michibane Aura, Tokinada meeting teenage Aura, Urahara casting Hado 99 against Aura's elemental dragons, Luppi in Resureccion, Shinji against thousands of Hollows.

One of the sketches is missing. The one where Ikomikidomoe transforms into a Hollow, that for reason speaks, acts and thinks like Barragan and also has his memories. But I think posted that sketch in my previous post.

Edit: Apparently there was also a slight difference between the online and the physical version of the book.

Rangiku used to have a part of the Soul King inside him. But when Aizen took part of her soul, she lost that part. It seems that part is inside the Hogyoku. It is implied that this was Gin's true goal. To get back what Aizen had taken from Rangiku. Hence why he tried to steal the Hogyoku and why he told her "I couldn't return what was taken away from you, Rangiku".

Aizen calls that part a "nail", but it's not the Nail of the Soul King, but a metaphor for one of his body parts. Said body part is the reason why Hollows turn a human fetus into a Fullbringer

Aizen didn't actually know that Fullbringer existed. Finding out about the nail, made him accidentally discover their existence and nature.

The ancestors of the great noble families didn't just amputate the Soul King. It was much gorier and more visceral. Some of his body parts were gouged out of him like a scoop of ice.

The bit about Rangiku is interesting. I remember years ago when the final arc was in its beginning stages there information came out that said Rangiku's past would be revealed or something.

There was nothing really significant with her so I think most people assumed the Isshin stuff that she was vaguely involved in was what that was referring to, but this makes way more sense to me. I guess with Kubo's illness and stuff he couldn't fit it in (or most of this stuff with the Soul King, in fact).

Ever think about how ridiculously far above everyone else Yamamoto is implied to be? I mean, both main villains, who are obviously not exactly weaklings, declined to fight him directly, instead sending a dirty tricks-using minion to remove him from the board before they personally joined the fight. And in the first instance of this, Yamamoto was still able to effortlessly beat said minion, implied to have power at least on par with the top Espada, to death with his bare hands.

Depends how you see him and Unohana. Kenpachi is more or less outright said to be potentially stronger than ANY Soul Reaper, and Unohana states she is stronger than anyone else save for him...though it's pretty clear that Ichibe is the strongest of the Soul Reapers.

I'm actually not sure about Ichibe. Yhwach was okay with fighting him directly, while like I said he subdued Yamamoto with trickery instead.

Yhwach never saw him as a threat. That's why he made clear he wasn't a War Potential. The minion was to distract him while he tried to recruit Aizen.

He even states him not healing his arm as proof Yamamoto had become soft hearted, and thus beating him would be easy. Whereas he would have prepped an actual plan if he was the cut theoat sycophant of 1000 years ago.

Did we every learn what Isane's shikai does...

Honestly I feel bad for Isane... Even if she is the 3rd best Medic in SS, She's overshadowed by Hanataro in Exposure

after Choujiro , She's the least developed LT 'Omeada may be the Butt-Monkey of the L Ts at least he gets focus... to show How utterly terrible of a Captain Soi fon is'

and Mayuri's super science and Orihime's rejection tend to put even Isane's Captain to shame when it comes to fixing people.

Hell the one time you think Her and Unohana are gonna get any meaningful development or focus it ends up once again being all about Zaraki

I think the problem is unlike Byakuya or Toshiro whose arcs are about them growing as characters 'still think Toshiro reverting back to his shota form was a cop out... even if he was just white haired green eyed Ichigo!'

Zaraki remains mostly the same with his arc revolving around his origins... Essentially He is a Static Character that you just fill in the backstory for.

Which is kinda the problem... Zaraki is fairly standard Blood Knight fair There isn't really anything unique about him to set him apart from other Blood Knights in the genre

So if you don't care for his character type... You're not gonna care what the answer is

I mean it kinda obvious what Zaraki is at this point...

He's from Hell

Note He's trademark aura is Yellow and Skeletal just like the Kushanāda

The worst thing about Zaraki is his fights tend to suck. It's just "Haha, I'll just hit it!" Can't hit it? "Hit it HARDER!" It's just an endless repetition of the same thing with almost no creativity.

He's such a transparent attempt to make a character the author feels is "totally badass" and it drags it down so bad.
