So I started playing Fate Extella. It's fun so far, except I have to admit I sometimes get confused due to how many enemies there are on screen. Like, so many enemies.

Extella on Vita lowers the enemy count due to hardware limitation for what I remember. But enemy count shouldnβt be a problem if you use one of the more higher tier Servants with large sweeping and quick moves and not on Hard for the beginning when youβre under leveled
Oh, it's not hard, no. I can win easily by simply spamming the attack and charge. It's just confusing and easy to lost track off important enemies, even with the arrow indicator.

Lock on is only Servant but maybe Link changed it?
Some Servants are worse than others, Jeanne has terrible moves while Li has such limited range but good damage

Regarding the supposed "retcon" about Artoria's classes...
Remember that Artoria wasn't actually a Heroic Spirit during F/SN. As I understand, due to her abnormal circumstances, she's limited to what she had available to her right at the time she made the contract with the world (the world lets Artoria pursue the Grail, and if she claims it, she becomes a Counter Guardian).
In FGO, she's actually a Heroic Spirit, so her legend can be spun off into Servants of other classes.
Honestly, more often than not, I find that the claims of "retcon" or "Nasu breaks his own rules" basically stems from...
1: People misinterpreting statements given.
2: Oversimplifying a statement until vital context is lost.
3: Mistranslations (especially, but not exclusively from Mirror-Moon's FSN translation).
4: Removing a statement entirely from its intended context.
5: People repeating old fanon assumptions that were never right in the first place.

Pretty sure that the rule's never been "broken". Every time Artoria has had a class other than Saber it's been due to a special case where she wasn't summoned normally and/or correctly.
Like.
When she's an Archer it's because her spirit origin (when she was a Saber) had been altered, kind of bypassing the summoning system/requirements.
When she's a Lancer/Ruler, it's because she's from an alternate reality somewhat influenced by the existence of the Lion King and the potential of having used Rhon instead of Exaclibur.
When she's an Assassin/Berserker/Alter Ego it's because she's from an alternate universe and the summoning system put her as an Assassin (despite clearly being a Saber) due to the nature of her existence. Or a Berserker because it's an alternate version/clone of the one hunting Sabers. Or an Alter Ego because she got a job.
When she's a Rider it's because she's Santa Claus.

In canon? No, it was never directly addressed, although Tamamo does make some very subtle passive-aggressive comments about it in Kiara's final boss battle.

Type-Moon sets up a new studio called called "studio BB". The studio head is Niinou Kazuya, who did the Fate/Extra games. They will be collaborating with third-party studios to develop mid/large-scale 3D games and internally develop small-scale games.

We probably won't see anything from them until next year at the earliest.
Either way, here's a cool idea: a game where the player is the Heroic Spirit, an artificial Heroic Spirit made up of random Phantoms smashed together, and you must cooperate with a unexperienced Master to survive a large scale Grail War.
It justifies the usual Character Customization thingy and adds a screw to the gameplay, as your actions in battle reflect on your relationship with the Master and you must carefully juggle all the numbers so that you don't f*ck everything up because the two don't get along well.

@Epic Bleye, to my knowledge, standard Lancer Artoria is basically just a mildly-divergent timeline possibility (a timeline where Artoria used Rhon more often than Excalibur, but still falls at Camlann so she's still human at heart). Lancer Alter is an Artoria based on 'what if, before Artoria could become Goddess Rhongomyniad in the timeline where Bedivere never returned Excalibur, Artoria corrupted herself to hold onto her humanity?'. And then Ruler Artoria is Lancer Artoria with a modded Saint Graph/Spirit Origin getting into casino ownership (though given she doesn't have a wish for the Grail any longer, she might qualify for it legitimately these days, and is just accessing the class via abnormal methods this time, like Lancer Raikou or Saber Medb).
@Hail Muffins, I think the associations with Amaterasu and the Tachikawa-ryu come up once or twice in CCC if you're playing with Tamamo as your Servant. I seem to recall hearing of a point where Tamamo chews Kiara out as a bad worshipper for fighting against (a bunrei of) the very deity she reveres, and Kiara seems to enjoy being insulted by (the bunrei of) her goddess.
