We're getting weekly updates for once and still no one is talking about it?
I'm enjoying this little scene with Ashe and Megumi, but I suspect it's leading up to something, and I'm kinda waiting to find out what.
I remember this comic! Wow, it's still going? I think I discovered it in high school. Before 2010...
Gosh, I'm gonna have a lot of catching up to do...
It's been up since 2000, and I've been reading it since at least 2004 (I suspect earlier, but I can no longer find the thread where I discovered the link on the forum it was)

Honestly I'm still totally lost with all these characters. Most of them were introduced in the last chapter or two and the updates were so infrequent that I've forgotten who they all are. Also, the art style makes them all look kind of the same. I should probably do an archive binge one of these days.
It is kind of hard to keep track of everyone sometimes - doesn't help if you leave it alone for a while and come back later having forgotten what was happening. Just to make things worse, a number of the characters we've been focusing on recently aren't on either the TvTropes or Wikipedia character sheets for Megatokyo. The character page on the site
has more, however.
Quick summary some of the more recent focus characters:
Komugiko ("Mugi"): kitsune, one of the first we met. Teacher at the school Largo taught at, hassled him about being an idiot and a terrible teacher. Currently recovering in the hospital after she was injured when the school collapsed due to [an earthquake]/[the zombie horde trying to get to Miho] (depending on the character's Weirdness Censor) AND then that hospital collapsed due to ANOTHER Miho incident. Junpei the ninja likes her.
Yakugashi: kitsune, Mugi's daughter. Currently with Miho and wants her to have a happier story.
Megumi: Kimiko's coworker at the maid cafe. Drove the getaway car during the giant clusterfuck at the hospital and left Piro and Kimiko at the FoxHole love hotel. She's the girl with the hair-ribbon bow in the current strip. Mugi's cousin, knows her and Yakugashi. Granddaughter of the older lady that runs the FoxHole, hence why they went there. She also spent a decent bit of the recent storyline dealing with Ping and Junko. Is also completely unaware that Ping is a robot. After spending most of the recent storyline dealing with everyone else's relationship drama, is currently dealing with her own lack-of-relationship drama.
Ashe: yet another kitsune, and another of Megumi's cousins. Deaf. Seems to work at the FoxHole with Megumi's grandmother.
Erika and Largo were also important recently, but they're primary main characters so hopefully you remember them.

Wow, thanks for the recap. Hopefully I can try to keep them straight. Like I said, they all look almost identical to me. -_-
More new characters. Obviously the gay guy in the background is going to be super important in about fifty strips.
Vaguely curious as to how she knows the dude is gay.
Who is this guy again? I've lost track a lot...

I think we've never seen them before. Although the guy saying "Busted" might be vaguely familiar?
Edit: Checked the official character list, they don't seem to be present there, so they're probably new.

Megumi might be going a bit overboard on the teasing.
This guy's story reminds me of Erika's, in a way. "My fiance suddenly turned out to be crazy and I still have no idea why."

I'm not entirely sure how into this she is.
Ping how the fuck did you get in there. Stop.
I have a weird feeling that this is bad, when in reality it's probably just mildly awkward. I dunno, for some reason it's coming off as more dramatic than comedic to me.
Bonus points: As mentioned above, Megumi is still unaware that Ping is a robot and thinks she's just a young woman with some truly strange issues.

In which our characters actually talk things out like reasonable adults. What a concept!
I feel like the smartest thing for him to do would be to give up on the girl who's jerking him around and stick with the one who's trying to help him. But I'd make this same mistake, so I can't blame him.
School is out for a while because of the coronavirus, so Fred's job driving a schoolbus is on hold. He's trying to spend that extra time on comics and other megatokyo things, so hopefully we'll see more frequent comics for a little while here. A silver lining in the dark coronavirus cloud.
