Because doublechecking the lore, it's implied her essence was contained in it. That might actually imply she was influencing Lahabrea's madness.

Like, that would actually pay off Lahabrea's line towards Elidibus at the end of ARR about how everything is moving according to his own will, and Elidibus corrects him by saying it's Zodiark's will, which Lahabrea ignores.
Granted, the narrative is suggesting Lahabrea was more devoted to the rejoinings and restoring the planet than Athena like his split self was.

Yeah, but he also absorbed said soul back at the end of the raids. So that's why I'm curious if that affected his opinion on Athena in any way. Like, I still think he would be against her if they ever met again, but it's kinda eerie how similar they are, at least ARR and HW Lahabrea.

Nah by the time of the game he was already dropping hints he wasn’t loyal to Zodiark anymore. Even kickstarting the 8th Umbral Calamity early was in line with whatever plans he had for making his wife a God.

I have hit the final part of the final area of Shadowbringers, and I gotta say... The ancients are surprisingly adorable, what with they way they keep talking to me as if I'm a toddler or something. I also like the unstated implication that we're seeing what the Echo looks like when it's doing its Translator Microbe business from the other end.
