Agreed Hayate: WE already know that the devil pulls the strings and we also knew that Slick and crew did as well. I'm sure there was a time where it was shown the entire world knew, but I can't remember when.

Tats is milking the joke dry, but it is advancing the plot in a way. As I wrote for yesterday's strip ...

Another consequence is that ordinary cast members probably will change the way they interact with Li'l E: some might keep their distance because they fear him, others might expect him to have regained his old personality even though he's still a woobie.

Don't be surprised if the two mooks suck up to Li'l E at the first opportunity.

That might not be a bad relationship for Satan to help foster, especially if he wants Lily to get a little more aggressive and dominating. He's way too attached to Tange to go any sort of authoritarian on her. But two mooks who made his life miserable? He might prove more willing to boss them around. Especially if he didn't see making them do what he wants to do as necessarily a bad thing. Can you picture those two forced to help him sit in a park and feed the birds?

Was it you who commented a few days ago that Hekate must have been a very bitter bitch to have named her son "Vainglorious"?

I admit it was me, and of course she's bitter - she had the firstborn son and Satan ditched her for his existing relationship for Lilith. Lily is raining on her son's parade just by existing

Plus she's living in a cottage and not a mansion

Edit: - I called naming him "Vain Glorious" a reflection of regret on her part, I think the bitter bitch part would have come soon after.

Naming your kid after your own vain attempt at glory by attempting to steal the very rich boyfriend of one of your friends...well, it doesn't reflect too well on Hekate

P.S. I'd bet money on Vain being older than Lily. Maybe by a year or two, which just puts the boot in on Hekate even harder

Imagine being named by your own mother as an self acknowledgement that she'd screwed up by getting pregnant with you in the first place

*IF* Tats were allowed (by his own ideology or by the editorial decisions of Someone Else) to plot it this way, I'd say it's likely that Hekate intentionally got pregnant. Remember the strip in which she advised Lilith to use protection? Vainglorious would have been planned — the bitterness came in after she pulled the "You got me pregnant, now you have to marry me!" line on Satan and he told her to get lost.

Very likely! My guess is that Hekate told Satan she was pregnant after Satan and Lilith were engaged.

Since Legion was previously doing the general management and bouncing at the Hellhole and has now been reassigned longterm, it looks like the devil owns the Hellhole and not Legion

Also the devil is settling down for some serious family time - no more screwing around a la Fuschia and Blue and partying his life away, he's working on creating a family home

P.S. Maybe we're being a little too harsh on Hekate - she did come over as a little starstruck by the young, very rich and handsome Devil.

There are a couple of ways that she could have ended up pregnant by him without trying to backstab Lilith - for example if Lilith and Lucifer had had a major row and were on the outs for a bit, or they were both very drunk, or even had a threesome one time.

There are ways to write around the issue without making Hekate look bad.

Of course, there's still https://www.sinfest.net/view.php?date=2017-05-15 when Nana might be felt to implicity criticize Hekate and Lucifer, but not Lilith (except for a bit of naivete, maybes?)

There have been trump jokes before. It has been a feature since he got elected.

And they've always been the most petty, superficial jokes. The kind of Jokes Tats would throw a tantrum over if used for a female politician.

That's what gets to me the most about his Trump jokes. If he were mocking his policies I wouldn't mind so much, that'd actually be interesting if nothing else, but instead he makes jokes about Trump's hands or wig.

It just reminds me of children's insults on the playground.

The current strip might be only filler, or it might be telling us that Legion is moving to the Mansion to do something, or it might be preparing us for a change in Sapphire's status. Too early to say — this mega-arc probably will take at least three years to play out.

She's also rather mean to her supposed BFF — she's been shown playing several practical jokes on her. And as I said, she does know about "protection" ... but for some reason she didn't use it.

I somehow get the feeling we already know the stripper hates her job since that is her entire character.

Wonder why Tats let Sapphire be the one to inform us on Legion being reassigned rather than Legion himself? Legion has had some interaction with Lil'E, but I don't recall if Sapphire ever met him, so it seems like this just exists to remind us she's there.

My impression is that Tats prefers Legion to be more of a spear carrier than a character. He doesn't do anything evil; at worst he's only neutral, a guy doing his job, and he gets along with pretty much everyone. But he's male! So when he does something, it's best to refer to him rather than to show him.
