Where did that little Cerebrus come from?

If I recall correctly, Lily had that dog only because the devil had a dog and he had to be the devil's fanboy. There was no reason for the dog save for that.

You'll find a lot of stuff Tatsuya did was "just because" when he started introducing more and more characters.

IIRC, in-story Li'l Evil simply found the dog. At first it had three heads, but several times early on Tats drew it with only one head. AFAIK, he hasn't named it.

Interesting to see that L'il Evil wasn't particularly infantilized back then, even though he'd lost his memory by that time.

honestly if this comic was honest in the decline of its quality, Percy and Pooch would be also in those cages.

Basically, except for the hellpup running away and being captured, nothing has happened for more than two weeks — not since Satan patted Li'l Evil on the head. It's all been various characters viewing and commenting on the situation, and we already know the situation.

I really do believe that Tats is stalling for time until he gets approval from Someone Else to advance the plot in the direction that he would like.

The scary thing is, it does look like Tats has been planning this storyline in advance. But this bit about Lily appearing to feel caged has just jumped into the plot like the addition of a female tricyclist cranked out on pumpkin spice

Maybe that's his plan? Showcase all the characters one by one so his new spinster and alt-right patreons can have a quickstart point?

Oh good, so this whole "trapped" thing he's doing is forced. I was afraid it was just me. Of course now would be the time to try to emulate Avatar and play up that the Devil only wants Lily close by so he wouldn't be an embarassment.

On a side note, how many three headed puppies (with collars and thus, presumably tags) are there running around this particular city where the shadow ruler of the world habitually walks his gigantic three headed dog? You'd think Mr. Dogcatcher would stop and consider whether or not this little catch might be part of a new litter Satan got or belong to someone who probably paid a pretty high price for Cerberus's stud services. Either way pupper would probably be worth a significant reward in his mind.

Okay, so again, maybe the puppy belongs to Satan, thinks the dogcatcher. Returning him might be a good way to snag that sweet promotion to *senior* dogcatcher.

Y'know, is it possible this is some sort of coded message here from Tats himself? It's been speculated that this particular arc seems planned, but now seems to be moving off the rails. If Lily is supposed to be a stand in for Tats's more vulnerable, insecure self, maybe he's giving a warning about how the story is about to spin in a direction he didn't originally intend it to go, but circumstances have left him powerless to prevent such (or rather feeling as though he's powerless to prevent it).

I fear you are correct. He did that with the Illuminati Ball arc, and even though that took months it had advanced the plot only about fourteen inches by the time it was done.

But Tats seems to be phasing out the Sisterhood; I don't expect them to play a major role in this arc. The problem with them is that Tats has set them up as (1) always on the side of Good, and (2) always competent because grrrlz can do anything. So why don't they win The Struggle and get it over with?

(Just watch — now that I've said they won't be important, Tats will throw the Sisterhood into the mix and make them key players.)

Tats doesn't seem to know how he wants to continue the story. He was dragging his feet even before Little Evil got to the mansion with a trans zombie distraction.

Writing by the seat of your pants just doesn't work if you want to tell a serious story.

Or burned any good will from your former fans.

I think it's the randomness here that makes it funny. When was the last time these two actually interacted with Lily? He just got that hoodie I believe.

I checked out pissworld for the first time in a while. It is DEAD. Funny thing is I think Tatsuya meant to do the Gab social thing as a means of bringing more people to his forum. Instead, I think he lost all his people to Spinster. The irony...

I hate to seem as though I'm defending Tats, but I don't see this strip and the Obnoxious Newsguy strip as filler. They changed the Sinfest universe in one respect: it's now common knowledge that Li'l Evil is Satan's son and acknowledged heir.

One consequence is that now it will be much more difficult for Vainglorious to attempt to claim the throne. Another consequence is that ordinary cast members probably will change the way they interact with Li'l E: some might keep their distance because they fear him, others might expect him to have regained his old personality even though he's still a woobie.

In that respect, I thought the "Oh, shit!" reaction of the two mooks was a nice touch. Show, don't tell.

That's a good point. In fact, this firmly established the devil as an important political figure.

The Devil was already firmly established as the man in power.

Tats has a pattern in these things. The audience learned nothing new over the last few weeks. The story is stalling like it always does.

Tats will probably lose interest soon (if he hasn't already!) and rush it to the finish line or just drop it for weeks / months / years.
