And the Avante Guard are probably being told to be ready in case Plan A fails. What they plan to do considering Vain's portal into the mansion has been perma-blocked is anyone's guess.

And so Tats reveals that Vainglorious is Hekate's son, to the surprise of absolutely nobody. Seriously, he could have waved around signs the size of Arizona and it would have been stealthier.

A few people over at the Discord forum were discounting the idea a few days ago.

Now I'm waiting for Tats to tell us:
* Why Satan and Lilith broke up
* Why Hekate and Nana apparently didn't give Lilith aid when she needed it
* How Lilith died
* Nana's real name
* Who Xanthe's parents and grandfather are/were
* What happened to the angel who cut off Satan's wings
* And, of course, the name of the Orphan Hooker.

Good prediction. I'm thinking Hexapodia has hit the nail on the head with Hekate's prior actions re Lilith and Satan

I'm guessing that Vain knows exactly who his father is with all his previous references to "old man" and his belief he should inherit the Throne of Hell

It's also clear why Satan isn't jumping up and down on the Sisterhood, Hekate or Vain Glorious despite his unlimited resources - he has blood ties to them via Vain being his son.

Even if he does have a hate on for Hekate, she's still the mother of one of his sons

It also partly explains why Hekate hides in the forest and doesn't ever challenge Satan directly

So the questions now are: -

Why is Lily Satan's acknowledged son and getting to live with Satan?

What is Vain Glorious' social relationship with Satan? Has he ever been acknowledged as his son?

Who's supplying him with the goods for his lifestyle?

It wouldn't suprise me if it was Satan behind his back. Somehow I really doubt Hekate has the ready cash to endow him. It'd also explain why his completely failed attempt at armed invasion at the Ball just got laughed at

That's my guess, too. Hekate made a point of telling Lilith that using birth control was important. If Hekate got pregnant, I'm pretty sure it was because she wanted to get pregnant — the old "Now you have to marry me!" ploy.

What DID Hekate do all those years ago? It does all seem to point to a massive guilt complex over something pretty darn bad.

I'm betting that Hekate is responsible, either directly or indirectly, for Lilith's death. Perhaps she didn't shelter Lilith when she needed it. Perhaps she told a lie that caused Satan to kick Lilith out of the Mansion, or caused Lilith to leave Satan.

New question: If the three witches were such good friends, why didn't Hekate or Nana do anythiing to help Li'l Evil when he was orphaned?

It's the biggest non-surprise in Sinfest that Vainglorious is Auntler's and Satan's kid, but I'm still kinda proud of Tats for finally taking the time to establish something.

Huh ... I think you're the first person to ever ask that question! Considering how long Tats waits to name characters, and considering that Hekate probably named him, I'll bet you're right!

So this is clearly the little academy they all went to when they were younger, which probably means Nana is already here. Has anyone considered the possibility that Vain and Hekate are working together? I mean, we got the idea that Blue was working independently of Satan when this started wrong, so is it really so farfetched that Hekate and her son aren't as estranged as they might appear.

The three of them being such good friends but Kate and Nana never giving Lil'E the time of day is something I've been asking about too. It's why this sudden interest seems like it came out of left field.

Wasn't Vainglorious also a successful artist? It's entirely likely he's supplying himself through that. Certainly he wouldn't be the first person to set himself up in a cult of personality with adoring minions. Of course if I were to hazard a guess, I'd say his childhood was probably something akin to Leonard Hoffsteder's, with Hekate dolling out affection and attention via an eyedropper, especially if his need for attention is anything to go by. Particularly if, as Hexapodia theorizes, Vain's whole purpose was entraping Satan. When it became clear the Devil had eyes for another, I could see Hekate's darling baby boy suddenly becoming much less precious in her eyes.

How shocking, right Tatsuya? You actually do story instead of propaganda and your Patreon does better. Crazy, huh? The good thing is you can still be all "notice me senpai" on your Spinster account while you continue to make your strip at least marginally enjoyable.

Anyway, it is good to see him firmly establishing story...but he firmly established things before only to completely overwrite and retcon things as he sees fit. I really can't trust him as a legitimate story writer. He might have reluctantly given us some established lore, but you can't trust it. The only thing that is established is his devotion to rad fem and he knows deep down that unless his comic turns a profit he can't keep doing it. It's no coincidence that he has chosen now, of all times, after a freefall of support, to focus on story rather than propaganda.

Once he feels that he has enough rad fem support to his page, we'll probably all see the Sinfest he truly wants to create, which will page after page after page of radical propaganda.

Has anyone also considered the idea that he HAD no established story and has used fan theories to write his story for him? For a man who writes himself into a corner constantly, it would be the easiest fix: scan the pages to see what people speculate and find the one who crafts the most interesting narrative, throw out a few bread crumbs, see how they take it, make your own twists into it to make it look like your idea, and BAM! You somehow have overcome your writer's block. Way to go, you art genius you.

I don't think that's what's going on here. The clues were too specific and were planted too long ago.

I do wonder whether there might be other outside factors than concern about his Patreon that are influencing Tats' decision to return to a plot-oriented comic. There are many possibilities, but little to no evidence. Perhaps there's been a change in his personal relationships. Or perhaps this is a case of Tats following Slick's advice instead of ignoring it the way Monique did.

And I really believe that Tats is a genius. I know a number of people who tested in the "genius" IQ range in school but who then flubbed their opportunities and failed to follow through on their potential. Some of them are bitter about how their lives turned out.

I'm sure Tats considers himself one if the evidence of his humongous ego is to be believed, but the guy can't write a coherent story to save his life.

I do appreciate Tats making an effort at once again trying to tell a story, but if you're honest even this storyline doesn't hold up even when asking minor questions. Just check all previous posts from the last few days, including your own.

Tats is mostly just a pretentious artist who threw what artistic cred he gathered over the years under the bus when he fancied himself the one good male radical feminist.

He'll get back to his radfem TERF and SWERF tracts soon enough. That Spinster thing is going to stop when desperately posting his comics for attention doesn't scratch the itch anymore.

So the straw zombies will be back. Not because they are the work of a genius, but because Tats is far less clever than he thinks he is.

Quite serious! It's possible to be a genius and also to be a bitter failure. And there's little correlation between intelligence and sanity.

I knew a bunch of genius-level people from high school and college who never lived up to their potential because they got lazy, or because they fucked up big-time, or who made a bad life decision (sex/marriage, career, drugs) that they never recovered from.

And plenty of geniuses subscribe to odd belief systems or are just plain crazy. I know a physicist who believes in the Chemtrails Conspiracy. I met a guy who believes the Illuminati are behind everything that's wrong with the world. I know a physiologist who is a hard-core "God created the world within the past ten thousand years" Creationist. Or for an example of bugfuck crazy, try this NASA astronaut. I personally know a very intelligent software engineer who went whacko and turned into a stalker. (I was the stalkee.)

I read an interview in which Tats said that he had a good job with one of the major comics companies but blew it by being lazy.
