Slick, you truly are the best friend Squig could ask for. That is going above and beyond the Bro Code.
Makes me wonder how Tats is gonna screw him over THIS time.
Huh.
A male person doing something unambiguously good.
I would like to hope this means something good for the direction of the comic.
I don't have it in me to believe it though.
I fear this will end badly...
Still, go slick. Way to be a great friend.
Shit, dude.
Slick... you can be my wingman anytime.
I have been burned before. But once more, I dare to hope.
It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve. It's good to see that Slick is still Squig's friend — best friend, I think.
I hope that when he sobers up, Squig still wants to be Slick's friend.
(And what happened to DevilSquig?)

Good, because Slick and Squig need each other.
This comic is more positive about male characters than Tats has been for years!
Makes you wonder when the hammer is going to drop
Seems like you guys were bashing Slick a little too soon.
Optimism is a duty.We weren't bashing Slick. We just know that he's Tat's favorite punching bag.
Which is nice until Devil Corp ask why Squig was a no call/no show for work.
I am cautiously optimistic but somehow Squig and Slick not being "on the same wavelength" still troubles me. Slick has acted nobly before, but when his motivations failed to match up with the one he was helping, he's still been called out. Still, it is nice to see this more sedated imagery that doesn't immediately paint these two as terrible people.
Odd. Tats can't seem to settle on whether he wants to demonize Slick as an avatar of All Men's Evils or show that he has actual redeeming qualities.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I think that's exactly it: he can't decide. It probably depends to an extent on the author's mood.
It may also have something to do with Slick being at least partly an author avatar.

Optimism is a duty.Slick was his first. Maybe he still has some attachment to the guy that he can't just let Slick be viewed as irredeemable.
Does Slick seem sort of glum when we last see him on this page? I get the impression that he's feeling resigned or even dejected.
Perhaps he's not optimistic about something, but what? Squig's future? His own? Their friendship?

New strip: http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2019-02-25
Slick seems to have shrunk a bit since we saw him in the drone factory. Here he's less than four feet tall, judging by the doorknob's position.
And again, he's silent and seems sort of burned out.

Now let's see YOU do it Tats, cause I'm 79% certain you still have yours and it's WAY worse than anything Squig or Slick were into.

Let this crusade against porn die already!
The story hasn't moved meaningfully for years on end and Tats has made his point more than often enough!
I don't think you understand the idea of a crusade. The whole point is that you keep throwing everything you have at it until the thing you hate dies.
At least, that's how I do it. Other people have stopped mid-crusade, but I always figured they were just little bitches who didn't have the brass to finish the job. I don't stop until the filthy heretics have been scoured from the land so thoroughly that not even their memory can creep, blackened, from the pyres.
Which is also how I do inquisitions, coincidentally enough!
It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.I don't actually dislike this one.
If I were being charitable I'd say this actually show slick getting character growth or respecting squigs wishes even if he doesn't agree, thus being a good friend.
I don't know where this is going. Showing slick in a positive way is utterly bizarre for how the comic has been for years.
Very odd.
But we already know that Slick has grown as a character, but due to the hamfisted nature of the current comics it keeps making him learn over and over again.
I like it too, although the placement of the porn seems a tad unlikely, right in the middle of his doorstep.
Optimism is a duty.By the way ... the porn: what is it? Is it a DVD case? A book? a deck of playing cards? What?
Pretty sure it's supposed to be a DVD case, since the rest of the cache was also DV Ds. Also, it is roughly the right shape for a DVD case, and it has a line on the sides, indicating that it is a box.
I know Tats' art can be a little off sometimes, but I don't see anything wrong with this one. Maybe only that the spine is on the wrong side, but it could just be the back cover.
Optimism is a duty. No, I was just curious. He never actually identified the medium.
Not to mention, what's the alternative? Give up things that he likes, and in exchange he gets to be like Fanboy and regarded as a pet at best, or just be the Sisterhood's whipping boy.
