Seven years ago Tats flipped the "misssion" of Sinfest from being humorous to furthering the causes of radical feminism and "social justice." Okay, it's his comic, he can do whatever he wants.

But for several years my reaction to the various plot lines has been "Why? Where is he going with this?" As the world of Sinfest becomes more and more divorced from our reality, it has less relevance to any issues in our world. In particular, the Johnbies stuff doesn't work as an allegory or a metaphor, doesn't correspond to anything in reality, doen't work as a fantasy plot, and is merely insulting rather than funny. Now we have Squigley — the only talking animal character in the entire comic — involved with the Johnbies. What's the bloody' point?'

Oh, and to those of us who are Americans: Happy Thanksgiving!

Even the Patriarchy is dumping on Slick now. Still not as harshly as everything else in his life though.

God above, Tats, why do you have it in so badly for Slick? At the rate things are going, he's going to end up being ostracized from both the Patriarchy (essentially, everything) and the Sisterhood. Is that what you want, Tats? Slick, one of your former main protagonists kicked out of civilized life like a leper?

At least Lepers have colonies they can be sent to. At this point, Slick is almost someone even lepers try to avoid.

This strip contradicts the theory that in Sinfest physical stature corresponds to moral stature.

Again. Slick at this point could Cause Third Impact, Release a Hive of Tyranids Upon the World, Pull a Goro and start Mindkilling people , unleash the T virus on the entire city, Sell Out all of Humanity to The Chaos Gods or the Dark Legion from Mutant Chronicles in exchange for his freedom and his alone, and Destroy the computer containing the only files for Half Life 3 and he'd Still be Justified because hey, if he's going to be hated on the scale he is, might as well do something to deserve it.

He should at least play as much of Half Life 3 as he can before destroying it.

Why. Was. He. There. I don't know why this is pissing me off so much, but Slick's entire presence there feels like a contrived coincidence.

I get the impression that he doesn't have much of a choice if he doesn't want to become an outcast in Patriarchal society.

@yamiblade: Now that would be an interesting plot line. Some poor guy wants only to be a decent person, but the powers that be (whoever or whatever it is) say that he's going to be the physical representation of everything that is bad in the world. Essentially, he gets to be blamed for all the bad things that happen in the world (even if he has no control over them) so that the rest of the populace can feel better about themselves, regardless of what he wants. So, after a few days of going through what Slick here does, he up and decides "Well, if I'm going to be treated as the sum of all evil, then I'm going to be the best one ever!"

@Hexapoda My theory was that apparent age was equivalent to mental age, which is not necessarily the same as morality. The Devil is very knowledgeable, confident, and competent (and thus he looks like an adult), but he's obviously one of the most amoral characters in the strip. Conversely, the naive and sheltered Crim is one of the most morally upstanding characters in the strip despite looking the youngest. Incidentally, I couldn't help but notice that Slick seems a little taller / older in this strip than usual, though maybe he's just a bit off-model.

Also, I wonder if Tat is reading this thread. I notice a sudden increase in jerkishness from Porno Man after I said he was generally acting like a pretty decent guy in this storyline. We know for sure that he read the old forum quite closely as his strips would often remark on what people were talking about.
