Caught this at a local theatre this weekend and it was so much damn fun. Just the right level of dumb it should be. Obviously you can draw a lot of parallels between it and cartoons or silent films, but I'd argue that its structure runs on kind of a video game logic, with the main character basically grinding progress. I've seen one or two people compare it to Dark Souls with that sort of trail, error and persistence.
