Basically this is inspired by Black Lagoon, but we play peeps employed by a PM/SC. My plan is to have this with small story arcs set in the fictional country of Huenan (mostly). Unlike BL, the gangs don't necessarily have a strong control over parts of Huenan (Trying to balance things here...). But they'll have influences in some industries/places (legit or not) in the country.
Most of the information you need is available here, though it's a bit outdated. I'll add relevant info as needed for info not available on the link and info relevant to this RP with some changes. This post will be updated as needed to suit any changes as required, serving as the infodump for the RP.
This takes place in IRL 2021, just without COVID-19.
Red lines are main roads; black lines are railroads. Orange areas are urban; green areas are national parks and other protected areas.
General Information:
Cities: Fuu-hian is the largest city in the country, serving as its capital and as a major port and industrial center. Hsiun-guon and Niǝ-kao-zi are two major tourist cities for locals and expats alike in the northeast with Niǝ-guon in the northwest. Other cities include Phuua-pien-hua, Can-jao and Ggǝy-nuen.
Languages: Huenanese and English are official languages, the latter used for business in an effort to emulate Singapore's success. Minority languages recognized include Yue (Cantonese Chinese), Min, Hakka, Vietnamese, Khmer and French.
Currency: The currency is the Huenanese dong, based on its Vietnamese legacy. Although in tourist areas, the American dollar is widely accepted, taking a hint from Cambodia's unofficial use of it. As such, it's currently pegged with it by USD$1 = 3.15 HD.
Denominations consist of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 HD bills. Coins consists of 5, 10, 20, 50 HD.
Transport: Huenan is a LHD country. The country is known to have an excellent subway and highway/road network in Taga-kao and Nia-kao, except for Kere-kao, but it has some well-maintained roads. Some rural areas are only limited to buses. Since 1997, the two main islands are connected by bridge. Construction thereof was considered a useless prestige project by many, but since its completion the GDP/capita of the northern island, Niǝ-kao, rose quickly to (currently) almost the same level of most of the countryside of the main island, Taga-kao, which silenced all previous critics.
