Fire Emblem Engage (Spoiler Thread)

Continuing the Xeno support gauntlet in my Maddening no Crystal Xenologue Character Run. Kind of impressed by Madeline's maturity, since the other Winds just immediately broke down. However, Rafal also wouldn't let himself be outdone. Other characters pending Mauvier supporst (and Veyle's gotten almost no attention thus far).

Random thought, what if the emblem of foundations doesn't actually exist and it's just Sombron's imaginary friend?

I was pondering that as well. It's a funny thought, but would probably be a really bad choice in terms of storytelling. It would make some level of sense, though, since the idea that a prisoner child could have somehow smuggled a priceless artifact like an Emblem off world is kind of ludicrous.

My Maddening no Crystal Xenologue Character Run is reaching the tail end of Xeno supports. Should be figuring out my Pact Ring recipient tonight.

I always thought the Emblem of Foundations was supposed to be Alear, partly because there are some clues that hint to it and that it would be a hilarious admission by IS to make the self insert the actual catalyst for literally everything in the main story.

I’ve already put all my money on it being Sommie.

It's Naga or Anri.

From what we've seen of Sommie, I kind of have my doubts considering how much Sommie likes being around people, even if they become sad that no one ever stays around for long. Though I could definitely see an alternate version of Sommie who's more of a "lone wolf" type being a candidate for Zero Emblem.

Personally, my current guess on who Zero Emblem is "no one we've ever heard about."

Or maybe Zero Emblem is an alternate version of Sombron who wasn't as much of an ass like the base game or the version in Fell Xenologue.

Or Sommie is like Alears assessement or Zero Emblem and Sommie knows the pain of loneliness better than anyone, even his dislike is that everyone dies while he is immortal.

I'm still going with my crack guess the Zero Emblem is Gharnef.

Maybe the Zero Emblem is the protagonist of the next Fire Emblem game.

The Emblem of Foundations doesn't matter. It's just a Kaga reference.

My Maddening no Crystal Xeno Character Run is in the home stretch. A few more sessions to reach the ending cards—and the Rafal Pact Ring ending.

My Maddening no Crystal Xeno Character Run has hit C24. Not too much longer until the ending cards. Been grabbing some Veyle supports along the way, since all the non-Pact Xeno supports capped out just before I got the Pact Ring.

My Maddening no Crystal Xeno Character Run has reached the endgame. Last chapter before ending cards (and the Rafal paired ending)! After that, I'm going to play back the Maddening C7 Xeno 6 deathless clear I got offline and commentate it!

Starting another Maddening run tonight starring Lapis and Jade (and maybe Bouch, if he gets enough points). Gonna miss messing around with Rafal and the dragonstones.

Remember that early (before completing C7) deathless, crystalless Maddening Fell Xenologue 6 clear I talked about? I finally got it up on YouTube. It's got some very specific inherits involved, but should be reasonable to replicate, since there wasn't any grinding for crazy 15k-SP sets. It also really shows off just how strong the DLC Emblems are (which, to be fair, FX is practically designed to do, but still).

Sooooo ever wondered why Engage doesn't have New Game + or an actual postgame?

Well, turns out it's because the multiplayer components of the game (locked behind NSO, if I might add) are meant to be its postgame/NG+. Yep.

I didn't mind that the game pretty much saved right before you fight Sombron, as Awakening did something similar. However, I'm still baffled that the devs didn't include an event viewer or support conversation viewer for all things viewed across all playthroughs.

I've said before that it isn't a deal breaker, but it was definitely something I was hoping would be added in a patch or something.

Can't you see the movies and supports in Alear's bed?

You can, but I was thinking something more along the lines of what Three Houses had, where every event and support conversation you unlocked throughout all your playthroughs can be viewed via the title screen. With Engage, you can only view movies and supports you unlocked during that particular playthrough.

Again, not a dealbreaker, but it would have been nice to have been able to view all Ring Supports I've gotten without having to boot up another save. It just feels odd not to have it when Awakening, Fates, and Three Houses had that feature.

Hell, Blazing Blade had that feature.

Engage is the first FE in a while which lacks that feature. And that's... a really weird oversight to make tbh.

What was the last one? DS Shadow Dragon?

Ye, and only because it didn't have supports to begin with for the sake of being faithful to FE1, a choice which still ended up being controversial back then.
