Chapter 9 − That went surprisingly smoothly. Shows that reading things off a textbook is usually not the best way to go about these things.
Also, Kinosaki can knockout people by lap-pillowing them to sleep apparently.
I've really been enjoying this manga so far.
Chapter 10: The new girls is a blushing and stuttering mess but she’s brave in her own way. Meanwhile, Gero continues to be just embarrassing enough to be likeable.
She's acting so childish, it's kind of weird to thing of them as an item, even if they're similarly socially-awkward.
At best they'd end up being Like Brother and Sister. Given that she's still a college freshman, Gero would be at least 5 years older right?
A few years of age difference isn’t that much of a problem for young adults, but yeah… I don’t really imagine a romantic chemistry for now.
So it seems like the new villain can literally Geass people with sound waves. Less flashy than the water guy, but a lot more dangerous.
Meanwhile, Kinosaki’s still dressed as a chick even though he doesn’t technically have a reason to. Seems like he really is just more comfortable that way.

So the dude is controlling people with sound?
Making his employer give him a back massage is a heck of a power move too.
>hella power move
This chapter felt pretty short, but Shiori had some time to… shine? Kinda. No idea how her magic trick works though. That seems physically impossible.
Although if he can control people to such an extent, I wonder why he even needs to actually hunt his employer's target, instead of just making her give him free money.
I don’t know, maybe he just likes the thrill of hunting? All that physical training has to be for something.
Or the extent of his control is limited.
Ex chapter this week. Guess Kinosaki is attractive regardless of how he dresseses.
I didn’t think of that, but yeah, that’d be an issue for Gero’s marriage plan.
He stated he'd conned women while dressed as a man, we just see it in... imagination now.
Naruko using the Dio wall climbing method caught me off guard.
I kinda wish that moment of tension lasted a little longer. She snapped out of the suicide hypnosis in like 2 pages.
I suppose they want to show that Shiori isn't a helpless Damsel in Distress despite her shyness, although to be honest, if they're going to have Gero save her anyway, I'd rather they stick to that from the start.
The point was more that she actually has the will to live her life for herself.
So Gero can… dodge sounds? I guess it’s metaphorical but it was kinda weird.
Knocking Shiori out was probably the reasonable option but… I wouldn’t be surprised if Naruko could manipulate nightmares too.
By the way, I love the detail of the uncle’s phone weighting 10 kg, because he can’t not be lifting weights.

The massage chair was what got me.
New chap, with a kaiju made of vibrating vegetation and mass hypnosis. Just your average day. Making the trees grow super fast to fuck up the tuning was pretty smart, I must say. I do wonder why the hypnosis doesn’t hit Kinosaki, though.
That was a narrative slight-of-hand to make leaving Ureshino alone not sound like a terrible idea.
Gero Hikaru, a poison expert from a pretigious family of poison experts, is faced with a dilemma − he has no intention of producing an heir, but his grandmother won’t have any of that. During an assassination mission, Gero receives a phonecall from his sister Akari, who announces him that she intends to break up with her girlfriend to marry a man and obey their grandmother’s wish. Since seeing his sister give up on her happiness is the last thing Gero wants, he decides to take it upon himself and find a mate.
Enter Kinosaki Mei, his mark, an expert seducer who routinely swindles people for a living and got on the mafia’s bad side. Gero accepts to give up on his contract in exchange for Kinosaki’s help in finding the perfect partner − the first and main obstacle being Gero’s total incompetence at anything not related to his job, including love.
A new series started in April 2022, written by Joumyaku and drawn by Yoda Mizuki.
So, chapter 8: Mission over, everyone’s happy, now Gero can move on to the difficult part. Himekawa looks quite dashing in this outfit I must say.
I can’t quite picture a romantic relationship between those two, though. Maybe a buddy-cop dynamic if Himekawa sticks around.
