A spaceship arrives from the sky. After some awkward maneuvering, it lands upright, with its main thrusters facing the ground.

"About the interuniversal physics - if my theses are correct, which I guess we're about to find out, the multiverse occupies the same physical space as anyone's home universe, and the thing that separates the universes is fundamentally different matter states. So, now that my ship is here - ouch!"

A crate, attached to a parachute, had just arrived from the sky and landed directly on Icarus' head. He completely forgot about that.

"I suppose that's the screen I requested earlier... Anyways, if you want to see the experiment that me and my friends have prepared, hop in."

Icarus attaches the crate to a rig on his back and boarded the vessel. Inside, the corridors are just big enough so that you could touch both sides while fully stretched out. However, he isn't headed for any of the vertically mounted seats - instead, he hides the crate in a compartment in the back, climbs to the very top and plugs himself into a rig.

I physically can't "hop in".

OMORI helps Girlfriend up in her wheelchair.

Thanks man.

I shall "hop in" as you said.

The Prophet stays true to his word and "hops in".

"Probably 'cause you're not in your home universe?", Icarus' voice asked over the ship's intercom. "Oh, and I need to work on accessibility... sorry about that. What was the name again, GF?"

The robot detached himself from the cockpit rig again and brought some metal scaffolding and styrofoam sponge from the ship's storage. He then removed a seat and fixed GF's wheelchair in a secure position, placed the styrofoam in some critical spots, and climbed back into the rig.

"Anyways, if you're all ready, strap yourselves in! I'm gonna accelerate with 5 G's, which is a lot, so keep your body within the seat until we're outside of the atmosphere."

And the ship took off, giving a good view of the planet that the group was on previously. Icarus thought he'd turn the ship upside down, just for the pretty view. No problem with that, they were all in zero G after all.

"Just before we travel over to my homeworld's Neptune, here's an orbital view of the planet! There's plenty more views like these if you're piloting a spaceship, so if you want to take pictures, there's still plenty of opportunity."

Suddenly, the ship's lights turned off. As its warp drive engaged, you could see stars flying by outside of the windows. After a short flight of three minutes, the drive turned off again, and an oddly static titanium chamber came into sight. Some external lights turned on, highlighting the chamber.

"And here we are! The Identity Decay Detector. Well, one half of it. The other half you'll see in just a second..."

The ship moved away from the detector by a couple of meters. Then, suddenly, everything went black for a millisecond, after which what seemed to be empty space before was now largely occupied by a dark blue planet, and a warehouse-sized space station with football field sized radiator panels.

"Welcome to my homeworld's Neptune! We're not gonna be staying here for long - as you can see, we're doing all experiments remotely from the Moon via a warp radio connection, so we haven't exactly built out this place for other entities to walk. Let me get you there."

Two more minutes later, the ship has landed on a designated landing pad on the Moon, next to an expansive building complex. A dome closed over it, and after some pressurization, the ship's doors opened, letting everyone out and into the facility. Three robots, with red, green and teal paintjobs were already waiting. Icarus quickly released himself from the rig and jumped out. "Oi, what's up? Everything ready?"

"Everything ready. And a bit more, too. I hope you like it!", the green robot responded.

"Alright, what did you do this time?"

"See for yourself."

Suddenly, the whole landing pad, as well as the airlock leading up to it, lit up in blue and orange colours, making the place look like it's from TRON.

"Oh my fucking-"

"Thought your guests might like it."

"Arthur, you're so childish..."

OOC: y'all tired of this already?

"Welp, let's keep the lights around, I guess... Let me introduce: Arthur-"

"Hi."

"-Boxman-"

"Hi!" The red robot waves a hand.

"and zero X zero zero eight zero eight zero, or as we call him, Teal."

The teal robot lets off an awkward chuckle.

"You won't be seeing a lot of us here, we'll mostly be working in a local simulation, just wanted to say hi. You might hear our voices over the intercom occasionally, no need to get scared. Anyways, see ya!" He disappears into the airlock, and the red and green robots follow.

"Anyways, time to show you how this works. This way, please!" Icarus walked into the airlock. He passed by a set of racks where Arthur's, Boxman's and Teal's robot bodies were mounted, and into a medium room with a bunch of computer screens and a big green button in the center.

"So, before I let you start this up, maybe a bit about my theories. I've already explained some parts - here's where it gets a little more technical: I believe that matter, on an even more substantial level than quarks, is made of something I've named "identity particles" and "buffer particles". These particles, in the case of the universe we're currently in, form all kinds of objects - protons, electrons, positrons, et cetera. In other universes, the identity particles can form into other objects, which could facilitate a completely different set of physics. In your home universe, for example, Prophet, there could be some strings of i/buffer particles connected to you and giving you information about the future - or controlling it, I honestly don't know.

Anyways, how do you travel between two universes? You swap out all the i-particles of yourself with the i-particles from another universe. Now, you know that some nuclei, like Uranium, are radioactive because they aren't energetically stable, and will split in half under the right conditions, correct? Well, atoms considered stable isotopes, like iron or hydrogen, may be unstable or even radioactive in other universes, and they'll start radiating! My identity decay detector here is a standard particle detector, and it should detect exactly that radiation.

I also theorize that with some more exotic universes, we may get objects that don't fit into this universe's particle system at all, and once these objects start rearranging themselves into quantum objects native to this universe, they may start radiating types of radiation that we've never seen before. Hopefully it's ionizing and gets picked up by the detector.

So, if you don't have any more questions, do the honors whenever you're ready!"

"So that's how that green...thing does it. Anyways, let us see this machine in action. Hmmmm...what item shall I put in..ah! One of Equinox's blades!"

The Prophets hands a glowing pink sword.

I know the way I described it is different than the way it looks in the website I linked, but in the game the Prophet is from, it looks like that.

"Uhh, keep the sword, I have no idea what it's made of. Besides, the actual detector - as you've seen - is in Neptune's orbit, and already uses... uh, what was it? Lead or iron cubes?"

"Hydrogen plasma."

"Wait, hydrogen plasma? Really? I swear I did some belting around the detector."

"We did keep that around for the lead cubes, but hydrogen - or protium, if you will - is a way simpler isotope than your average iron nucleus. So I figured I should replace it."

"Fair enough." Icarus drums his fingers against a piece of iron plating on his head. "For your interest, GF, Prophet, protium is basically hydrogen with only one proton for a nucleus. Anyways", he taps the green button, "here's the trigger if you're ready!"

[up][up] Does that mean it's not the same continuity as the OG avatar thread either?
