For a fanfic (Harry Potter) I'm sort of characterizing Lily Luna Potter as being kinda between Spoiled Brat and Spoiled Sweet. She's a little doted on by her father, and enjoys it. But she is also a decent person at heart who believes in fairness and hard work and loves her family.

Is there a way to write a character with bratty traits that manages to still be kind of endearing.

I suppose that my question, given your description, is that of: what bratty traits does she have?

You've said that she believes in fairness and hard work, so she presumably doesn't have the standard trait of expecting everything to be handed to her.

In what way, then, is she bratty?

A good example could be Jane Austen's Emma.

You could show that the character has good intentions, but, being 'spoiled', they do not have a clear grasp of other people's issues, and so they end making mistakes out of ignorance rather than malice.

Aren't "endearing brats" those with demands that can be fulfilled without harming anyone else's feelings in the process?
