Not sure if this is the right page to discuss something like this, but didn't know where else to bring this up.

About 9 years ago, JackTheHammer added a Harsher in Hindsight edit to the Resident Evil: Damnation page, concerning the, at-the-time ongoing, crimean crisis and it's similarities to the movie's focus on "an Eastern European separatist movement collapsing into a bloody civil war". They chose to end their edit by (perhaps jokingly, perhaps seriously) posing the question, "do we need to check for any BOW labs under Kyiv?"

While JackTheHammer may not have meant any harm when posting that last bit (heavy emphasis on may), today, Ominae added a note to this edit, noting that the line used to conclude the aforementioned edit was one used by people with pro-Russia/China sentiments who support Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The edit, in full, can be seen below;

  • Harsher in Hindsight: Much like in Resident Evil 6, the prospect of an Eastern European separatist movement collapsing into a bloody civil war has become a lot harsher now that eastern Ukraine has collapsed into civil war as of 2014. Especially as Belikova herself is a fictional counterpart of Yulia Tymoshenko, and the film ends with the Eastern Slav Republic getting occupied by the Russian military. Do we need to check for any BOW labs under Kyiv?note

I personally do not know for sure if what Ominae says is true, nor am I aware of Jack The Hammer's current views on the ongoing crisis in Ukraine (and looking through their recent edits folder, they don't seem to be the type to leave potential Flame Bait lying about - at least as far as I can tell from a first glance). I am likewise not overly familiar with arguments used by people with pro-Russian - or pro-Chinese - sentiments in regards to the ongoing war in Ukraine, and have even less first-hand knowledge about the crimean crisis. As such, given that this example is from a (likely) relatively unknown YMMV page, I thought it best to bring the matter up here with a third party.
