Yeah but that assumes the Constantly Curious aliens would make up gods to fill the gaps (or at the very least believe in those made up gods) before they worked to fill in those gaps themselves if they didn't yes they would likely be Deistic but if something resembling theistic religion existed it would have to be understood by the people of the time to be entirely speculative also just a reminder that the original question was "How would they be likely to react to discovering it in a first contact scenario?"
