One of my favorite character archetypes is that of the character who despite their frightening/disturbing/generally really fucking creepy capabilities or mannerisms (ESPECIALLY their mannerisms) still manage to be effective forces on the side of good. There’s something inherently kind of interesting about such a character, like a modern style anti-hero but with moral ambiguity replaced with unsettling outward tendencies providing the contrast.
However, I find it difficult to convincingly convey such a character myself. How can I strike a balance between creepiness AND morality? Such concepts in my mind include creepy tendencies that don’t actually bear on the morality but cause negative judgement from onlookers, or are moral IN SPITE of their creepy behavior (such as the Reluctant Psycho variant of a Psycho Sidekick). However, any and all feedback and advice is greatly appreciated!
Arguing about what counts as a sandwich and what counts as a pizza since 137 AD!
