"Good morning boys, girls, and everything in-between and welcome to Prism City radio, home of the best new music and your daily source of news for all of the exciting events happening around the world." the smooth voice of the radio host played out across various speakers throughout Prism City, one of the most advanced modern cities on the planet and the first to use all Disc based technology in its construction. Many people saw it as a shining example of humanity pulling itself out of the dark ages that the original Disc fall had brought, while some others found its opulence and how it was built to be a reminder that the world many had known before had ended. Regardless of thoughts however it was one of the most populated cities in the world with amenities that made it attractive to all walks of life. From the large museums to the entertainment districts there was always something new to be found.

"So then lets get to the news, last week saw another drop from the D.J.'s Twilight Collection in the form of a three headed beast that reports have finally nailed as King Ghidorah, a Kaiju popularized by the Godzilla movies, and specifically pulled from film 'Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster', and unlike the original actor in the suit this beast packed some serious firepower. But with the combined skills of the Defense League's 'Squad A' the creature was put down and the Disc was collected and locked away with the rest of the Twilight Collection in the vault under our own cities Defense League base, where it will remain secured for research purposes. But in brighter news today will be the first day for new Defense League squads all around the world, coming together to help preserve this beautiful world we've managed to put together. So if you see any new League members make sure to give them a big cheer as you go about your day! Now then, enough news, we'll be sliding back into the tunes with the top twenty," the sounds of the hosts voice were replaced with music.

Music that played out of speakers from Defense League Plaza, a beautiful blend between natural and advanced, with parks spread out around the central building, Prism City Defense League Headquarters, one of the most advanced buildings in the world, boasting incredible defense systems and towering high into the sky where it could be seen from almost any point in the massive city. Crowds and reporters gathered around the building to catch a glimpse of the newest members of the Defense League, but were kept a respectful distance from the front by the guard robots.

Those who entered into the front of the building would find themselves in a large lobby containing artwork and statues of such quality to boggle the mind, a perfect waiting area for the new squad as they were directed over the buildings intercom to await for the director to arrive and encouraged to mingle with each other.

Enter, Regina Grace

A glasses-wearing, blue-eyed brunette woman wearing a wool jacket over a plain white shirt entered the Plaza. She looked around, analyzing the pictures and the statures. She sat down at the nearest bench and pulled out her phone. She logged into Fate/Grand Order and obtained her daily award. On the game menu, she is greeted by the game's portrayal of Anastasia Romanov, a snow-haired girl who's a Caster Servant with ice-based abilities. The woman smiled a bit, turning to glance at her cyan-colored Drive. It only had one Disc in it, but the character on it happened to be that particular Anastasia.

Once she did her daily FP summon, she went on a Wikipedia article about the Bourbons, since she was only in the mood to collect the awards in her game and wanted to learn more about real-life royalty instead.

Damien Lee

"Omigoshomigoshomigoooosh!"

A young, dark-skinned man with black hair tied into a ponytail and bright blue eyes was practically whirling through the lobby, spinning around to take in the entire room. "This is amazing!" he squealed. "It's like every dream I've ever had! Only my hands aren't made of waffles...right?" He licked his hand, and, to his disappointment, tasted only skin. "Awwww..."

He plonked himself down onto a nearby couch, fiddling with his Drive as he waited for the rest of the squad to arrive. "Wonder what Discs they have," he said to the emptiness of the lobby. "More video game characters? Ooh, they must be really cool to get a spot here! Definitely stronger than Isabelle, at any rate—I mean, I like Isabelle, but she's not the strongest Disc out there. And..."

Damien paused, his eyes flicking down to his Drive—more specifically, the port for the second Disc. That one was...special. For all the wrong reasons. It was also probably the reason the Defense League scouted him out in the first place—better to have that Disc under League supervision, and not in the hands of the Scratchers or the DJ.

Well, not much he could do about it now. Instead, he simply settled in, and waited.

Damien happened to accidently sit by Regina who noticed.

"Hullo," Regina said. "You were chosen by the Defense League as well?"

Damien

"E-eh?! You heard all that? I..." Damien paused, then nervously giggled, brushing a stray lock of hair behind his ear. "Whoopsie. Didn't think anyone else was here..." He quickly cleared his throat.

"Aaaaaanyway, yes! I'm a member of the League too! Name's Damien. Nice to meet you!" He eagerly stuck out his hand.

Regina glanced away for a moment before turning back to Damien.

"My name is Regina Grace." She responded as she stuck out her hand as well. The two did a handshake. She then noticed his two Discs.

"So, what characters are in those Discs?"

Damien

...hard questions right off the bat, huh.

"Well, this one—" He pointed to his first Disc. "—is Isabelle! The Shih Tzu secretary from Animal Crossing. Though I've found that her abilities come from Smash Bros. This one..." Damien hesitated. "This one is..."

Crud. How was he supposed to explain it? "Er...well, I...don't really use it much." Namely, once, and that was before I knew who it was. "It's kinda...dangerous."

"Like it 'would lead into an immediate Ego Death and nuke a whole country' dangerous?" Regina asked.

"And since I brought up, I should tell you who my Disc is as well," She then pointed at her Disc. "It's the FGO version of Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova. She's an ice-powered Caster Servant who has Viy as a familiar."

Damien

"I mean, I've used it once before I knew what it was and I'm still very Damien. But...basically. I don't trust my ego enough to not blow up if I use it twice." Or at all.

Damien cleared his throat. "Anyway! Anastasia, huh? That's cool! I wonder what sort of Discs the other squad members have. I'm putting my money on video game characters, because video game characters are awesome!"

Unless they're eldritch abominations who could destroy the world.

Yeah, well, I just won't use that Disc! So there!

"Well, that is her and thank you. Also, I guess it would be more likely to see video game character discs."

Regina looked at the clock on her phone. It read 11:24 AM. She took a subtle sigh as she kept on waiting.

Into this pair of nervous newbies comes music from Prism City Radio, leaking out from the clearly improperly-shielded headphones of a dude walking in to the lobby with all the confident on-beat swagger of someone experiencing absolutely no first-day nervousness.

"Yoooo! Sorry for bein' late but the media wanted to get a few snapshots of the hotshot, yaknow?"

The new arrival tapped his sunglasses for emphasis before flashing a smile at the two fellow recruits.

"We discussing Discs? Ah, I kinda want to keep that under wraps till we get in the training room and I can show'ya what they can do for reals. That said... Name's Dave, yaknow?"

Regina glances at David.

"Yes. Yes, we were. Um, my name is Regina..."

Damien

"Ooh! New guy!"

Damien eagerly bounced off the couch and stuck a hand out, giving Dave an excited grin. "I'm Damien! Nice to meet you! Ooh, I like your sunglasses, where'd you get them?"

"Custom order my dude. These are some real flash shades, perfect for yaknow. Yaknow?"

Dave laughs and shrugs.

"Don't worry too much about it. Just got them off the internet."

"Sooo, I assume you're also new to the Defense League, right...?"

Damien

"'Course he's new! We're all new! An' besides—" Here, Damien lightly shrugged. "If he wasn't new, we would've heard of him before, right?"

"Anyway!" he chirped, pointing to the first Disc in his Drive. "This is my Disc! Isabelle from Animal Crossing. Technically Smash Bros., but it's basically the same character just with combat capabilities."

Regina notices Damien pointing at his Disc.

"Well, I guess I have to tell you what's mine as well." She then pointed at her Disc.

"This is the FGO version of Anastasia Romanov. She has ice powers."

"Yeah I'm new. That said, probably won't be long before I'm someone you'll have heard about. And of course, keeping my Discs under wraps but hint for ya; don't be surprised if you see me dancing on the battlefield."

Dave does some fingerguns and smiles.

"Isabelle and Romanov, decent picks."

"Thanks..."

Regina then looked away from David, as she wanted to take a quick break from socializing.

Damien

Damien's head tilted. "Dancing? Sooooo...musical character? Elphaba? Glinda? Or a rhythm game character? Like the Boyfriend? Disney animated musical? How close am I?"

At the compliment, he grinned. "Thank you!" Good thing he didn't notice the other Disc.

"Dancing?"

Regina pondered for a moment, thinking about what he said.

"So your Discs involve dancing and music, I suppose?"

"All the world's a dancefloor, my friends. And all the men and women merely dancers."

Dave does a little shoulder wiggle.

"As for your guesses, you'll have to wait and see when we get in the training room or the battlefield, buddy."

Regina simply nodded and glanced away as she understood what Dave meant. She's now hoping this could be her last social interaction until their mission begins but who knows what will happen.

A small chime played out over the room the group had gathered in, a soft and gentle tone followed by a feminine voice coming out over the speakers. "Welcome prospective Defense League recruits, my name is Marge Ackermen, and from today forward I'll be your overseer for both your missions and any tasks you are to take moving forward,"

The name wouldn't be familiar to many, through those who had read up on Defense League news or listened to the radio might be able to remember a fact or two. She had been one of the top rookies during her first year, but had suffered an intense EGO Break that had left her sidelined. Overall she was known as a competent and no-nonsense woman who had seen a lot of rookie teams past their probationary period into full service with the Defense League itself, through her methods were known to be strange.

"In order to understand the current level of your strength you will be provided with a simple training mission," suddenly the room seemed to flash and a number of holographic people filled the room, humanoid in shape but without any characteristics that would denote them as anything but practice dummies. "The projections you see in front of you can be controlled via voice command and so long as you are touching one they are 'invincible' for the sake of this exercise. Your goal is to protect them against incoming threats for ten minutes until 'back up' arrives. Full use of Drivers is allowed along with access to any Discs you have on you. Enemies will begin population into area at the tone."

As she finished speaking a tone played over the area, and from the floors arose odd creatures wrapped in mechanical armor with an odd cone like design. On its 'head' it had a protruding eye stalk from the front, and on its 'body' was a plunger like device next to a small tube. "Life forms identified, Exterminate the lifeforms!" the beings swiveled in place, taking aim at the holograms.

Regina took a deep breath as she came up with a plan. She taps on her Drive and transforms.

Frost covered her surroundings during the transformation. Here, she took on the form of her sole Disc, Anastasia.

"Viy, keep it distracted. We also need to dummies behind us safe."

A shadowy figure manifested out of Regina's shadow. Its glowing blue eyes glared at the Dalek. That very being is Viy, Anastasia's familiar.

It raises one of its claws, ice appearing on it, and aimed for the Dalek.
