Gungnir’s Ice Shards impact the barrier just as they were about to hit Fortress, sending them back and above the dragon and general.
“Now all your monsters get flipped to face down defense! And they can’t be changed back!”
She looks absolutely exuberant.

Tyler was practically rocking in her seat. Why it wasn’t s as flash as the other duel. Tyler found herself enjoying the game. She glanced down at the card she drew. Well it was better then nothing.
“I enter my main phase. Now meet my Machina Possesstorage. His effect allows me to bring back my Machina Gearframe in defense mode.”
Tyler placed Possesstorage in the now up second left monster zone. She place Gearframe in the middle zone.

"I activate the magic of Polymerization! With it, I can immediately fuse together my Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress #1 and my Mystical Sheep #1 to bring forth a being of immense power!" He awaits a response to the spell's activation.

Iggy draws for her turn, and studies her hand of four.
“Hmmmm...if I...then...”
She scratches her head.
“What would Papa do here...ah!”
She nods.
“First, I’ll release my Fortress!”
Fortress vanished into a graveyard portal. “By doing that, I can special summon Infinitrack Crab Crane in defense!”
The sound of mechanical whirring fills the field as a green claw machine appears, then lowers its crane and turns blue. (DEF 500)
“Next, I’ll use Crab Crane’s effect! If I remove a machine from play,” She takes Toy Knight out of the Graveyard slot, “like Toy Knight here,” then pockets it, “I can add a spell called Outrigger Extension to my hand!”
Said card pops out of the deck.
“Ok, and then...oh! Remember who I added to my hand last turn? Super Express Bullet Train! See, when I only have Earth Machines on my field, Bullet Train special summons itself from my hand!”
A long railway track appears above Iggy, where the massive train zooms in (ATK 3000)

Iggy’s face falls as she watches the torrent wash away Crab Crane and Bullet Train.
Biting back curses, Iggy takes a card from her hand.
“F...Fine then! I discard Heavy Freight Train Derricrane to activate Machina Foretress’ effect! C-Come on back!”
The Fortress reappears in her middle monster zone (ATK 2500)

She gulps, then takes another card.
“Next! I normal summon Infinitrack Harvester!”
A yellow harvesting plow appears next to Fortress. (ATK 0)
“And then since he was summoned, I can put another Infinitrack in my hand...”
A card pops out, “I’ll pick Infinitrack Anchor Drill.”
Right...and now...
She nods, “Harvester’s other effect! By targeting Fortress, I can add their levels together and make them both that level! Fortress is level 7, and Harvester is 2!”
Stars appear above both monsters, meld together, then float above both again. “That makes them both level 9!”
“Here we go!” The gadget on her wrist glows...then sputters out.
“Eh?” She shakes it. “Aw...batteries musta died.”
Iggy shakes her head. “Anyways...I overlay my level 9 Machina Fortress and Infinitrack Harvester!”
Fortress and Harvester turn into amber streams of light and flow into a newly opened Xyz portal. “With these two monsters, I build the overlay network!” The light builds, then bursts out with a thundering roar of gears and metal. “From the depths of the earth comes infinite power! The ground quakes at its arrival!” From beneath the floor, a great blue machine headed by multiple spinning blade heads erupts from a fresh (holographic) hole in the ground. “Ride On, Rank 9! Say hello to Infinitrack Earth Slicer!”
The beast of a machine comes to rest in the Extra Monster zone (ATK 3100, OU 2)

Ignia takes Machina Fortresss out from under Earth Slicer.
“Once per turn, I can use as many Overlay Units as I want and destroy just as many cards on the field!”
Earth Slicer absorbs one of the orbiting lights into its cutting head, then ejects a smaller spinning blade at Mary’s remaining set card.
“So I’ll detach one, to destroy that set card!”

A card slid out of her GY and she slapped it onto the field. A monk wearing a basket on his head and wielding an ice sword appeared next to the dragon. (300 DEF)
"If Zuijin of the Ice Barrier is in my GY I can reduce the level of Gungnir by two to revive it. And then I'll sacrifice it to activate its effect, allowing me to special summon a level 5 or higher Ice Barrier from my hand!"
Zuijin disappeared in a flurry of snow and was replaced by another monk, this one shirtless with tan skin and a snowflake floating off of his back. His hands glowed with blue flames. (2700 ATK)
"Meet one of the Ice Barrier Generals, General Gantala!"
