Campus Courtyard

The young man who stood across from Drake flashed a cocky smirk as he finished shuffling his deck and inserted it into his duel disk.

"Eh? The name's Seamus, and I'm extremely lucky. Y'see, I'm da sevent' son ov'a sevent' son! Y'aint got no chance of takin' me down."

His duel disk activated and he drew five cards.

A massive holographic coin appeared between the pair, one side with Seamus' face, the other with Drake's. It flipped itself up into the air and landed on the ground with a metallic thunk, showing Seamus' face.

"Ha! Just as I says!"

He looked over his hand then took a card and slapped it into his field zone.

"I activate A Legendary Ocean! What it does is that it reduces the level of all WATER monsters by 1 and gives them a 200 attack and defense buff!"

The field shifted and changed into a massive underwater city.

"Since it's now level 4, I can summon my Terrorking Salmon wit' no tributes!"

He slapped a card down and a stream of bubbles came up from below the duelists as a viscious looking fish swam onto the field. (2400 ATK -> 2600 ATK)

"I'll end my turn dere."

LP: 8000

Field: Terrorking Salmon (2600 ATK), A Legendary Ocean

Campus Courtyard - Fish vs Maids

Drake flinched at the boasting of his opponent and that flinching continued as the coin flip went their way followed by the playing of a Field spell and the summoning of something actually fairly powerful. Drake glanced down at his own hand: A lot of it was stuff he couldn't really use first turn but there was two cards that looked decent.

"Right then, first I play something face-down in my spell slash trap area!"

Dragonmaid Downtime, a decent repeatable for his purposes. And now it was time to embarrass himself and the Academy by showing exactly what kind of thirst his deck was built around.

"And I call the first of my servants to attend! Lorpar, assume your human form and show our guest your service!"

He did admit, seeing Parlor Dragonmaid appear in full holographic glory did make him feel better about getting in a duel in the first place.

"Parlor Dragonmaid's effect allows me to send a Dragonmaid card from my deck directly to my graveyard. This of course will be her true form, Dragonmaid Lorpar!"

And the automatic deck-searching wasn't a bad feature to have on hand either.

"Now, if you have no responses, I would like to move to Battle Phase."

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Campus Courtyard-Fish vs. Maids

"Not so fast!"

Just as Drake entered his Battle Phase, Seamus he took a card from his hand and flipped it around, showing it was a Trap.

"This is Phantasm Spiral Power! If 'Umi' is on the field, and it is t'anks to A Legendary Ocean being treated as 'Umi', I can activated it from my hand wit'out setting it beforehand. Since I control a Normal Monster, I can target one effect monster you control and negate its effect, as well as reduce its attack by 1000!"

A whirlpool shot out of the card, trapping the Dragonmaid.

"Ha! I gotcha on the ropes, buddy!" Seamus ripped a card from the top of his deck and looked at it, a little disappointed.

"Well, your Maid's effect and attack power are restored, but she's still no match for me Salmon. Moving to Battle Phase. Attack!"

He moved to his Battle Phase, not knowing the maid's effect proccs on his turn as well.

"Hold up! Parlor Dragonmaid's effect can proc and I'm choosing to do so. Lorpar, reveal your true form!"

Drake did a little happy spin, ejecting Parlor Dragonmaid and slotting in Lorpar from the graveyard. On the holographic front this was represented with that glowing white transition transformation.

"My estate is well-guarded by my attendants, do you still wish to attack?"

Seamus cursed under his breath.

"A'right, I call off my Salmon's attack and pass to you."

The salmon swam back to his side of the field. Seamus stared daggers back at Drake as he ended his turn.

Dueling Dragonmaids

"And at the end of your Battle Phase I activate Dragonmaid Lorpar's effect. The danger has passed Lorpar, return to your more wonderful appearance... But then I chain my trap card in too! Dragonmaid Downtime, I return Lorpar to my hand to return A Legendary Ocean to your hand!"

Dragonmaid Downtime went off first, ejecting Dragonmaid Lorpar (and the opponent's Field spell) to their respective owner's hands before Parlor Dragonmaid returned to the field, this time in defense position.

"Enter the— Summon effect triggers again, I send Dragonmaid Tinkhec to my graveyard. And I think that's all my end of Battle Phase stuff... Do you wish to take your second Main Phase or is it my turn?"

He waited for a few seconds just to get confirmation before beginning his turn. Draw phase, Eye of Timeus; neat but not useful just yet. There was at least some stuff he could do this turn just with what she had on the field.

"Alright I activate Dragonmaid Downtime again to return Parlor to hand and retrieve a Dragonmaid card from my deck which is going to be Dragonmaid Changeover which I will then immediately play to fuse Lorpar and her maid form to summon the grandest of my servants in her true form! Sheou, come forth and serve your master!"

The spectacular little light show that accompanied the casting of Changeover and the reveal of the grand draconic form of Dragonmaid Sheou caused Drake's expression to brighten considerably. Here he was, at the top of his deck's power, surely.

"Battle phase, I attack your pitiful fish."

Seamus grimaced and drew a card, letting Drake resolve Sheou's effect during the Standby Phase.

"I'll activate my Legendary Ocean again, then I'll summon my Codarus."

The sunken city returned and a small sea serpent appeared on the field. (1400->1600 ATK)

"I'll activate its effect and send my Ocean to the graveyard to send your Sheou and Downtime to the GY!"

The already sunken city sank as Codarus charged up an electric blast...

"Alright, well before it disappears I will activate its other effect. Since you activated an effect I can summon a Phantasm Spiral token."

The lid of the casket blew off and a ghostly sea serpent appeared on the field, coiled up in defense mode. (2000 DEF)

Pacifis disappeared and he never got his search. Huffing he set a card facedown, unable to replay Pacifis.

Dragonmaid Clean-Up (or Tidying as the actual system itself said). Not particularly good but these turns of doing nothing with the hand had kinda left him with no option but to play something.
