A word of warning before proceeding into this RP; there WILL be substantial genre shifts going into this, but it is predominately a horror RP.

Characters can and will be subjected to a lot of bodily trauma. So don't get too terribly attached - I'm taking a Bloodborne like approach to this. Aggression can be rewarded, but recklessness will absolutely get your character killed. Also, there will be timeskips.

But do not worry - even if your character happens to bite the bullet, you can either talk to me OR make a new character. Though the sign ups will change as time progresses in the RP.

January 5th, 2024. The lights go dim as an earthquake rocks Seido International Academy.

Seido International Academy is where we begin. Connected to Japan by the Amatsu-Kashin Mechanical Bridge and resting on a man-made island, the

Membership in this all expense paid international academy is perplexing - students from across the globe and from across income levels attend the academy. Strangely, only a blood test is required plus a basic test of academic and athletic abilities.

Planes bring students from across the globe to the academy. Each of the eight buildings comprising the school represents a field of study - Athletics, Biological Science, Social Study, Chemical Science, Literature, History, Geology and Government Studies.

And then one day an earthquake caused the lights to go dim, and the students could hear a distant roar that almost sounds like a scream. And then they awaken to find the school is besieged. The massive eight building academy is shutting off from the rest of the world - and each building from each other.

Outside of the walls of Building 2, your characters can see scenes of disaster and destruction, bodies and blood everywhere.

Monsters roam outside, hungry for human flesh on a base line and some even capable of revoking humanity.

The objective is simple: survive and find a way to eventually fight back. But over time, larger and larger monsters will begin emerging from the holes in the Earth called "Eyes of the King".

How human will you be in the course of fighting against monsters?

Another note: I'll be implementing something new here. An actual stat. Humanity is a given stat at the start of the game, and depending on how events proceed and what happens with your characters, Humanity may Wax or Wane - and certain things can even reduce your Humanity Cap. Getting to 0 Humanity is...not a good thing, is all I'm gonna say right now. Everyone starts with 100 Humanity, and you cannot go over 100 Humanity.

A few factions (and important individuals) just to start with;

  • Dojun Saito: A strange doctor roaming the monster infested Tokyo and Academy landscape. Covered in bandages and clad in black, the monsters for whatever reason ignore the existence of Dojun Saito. He was reportedly ousted from his practice for acts and treatments some would deem...unnatural. And if someone does a supply run for him, he may well be willing to give you assistance.

  • Society of the Fang: A strange faction reportedly working out of the railways underneath the city of Tokyo. While they have dedicated themselves to fighting the monsters, they use any methods in pursuit of the power to do so. "What better way to fight our foe than to use his own strength against him?"

  • Colonel Watanabe's Unit: Known as the Anti-Monster Unit, Colonel Watanabe is leading an effort to push out any and all Monsters from the besieged capital city. However he specifies quite oddly that only humans are welcome in Tokyo, and only those willing to "follow orders" at that. And considering he was disciplined prior for his controlling attitude, perhaps suspicion is healthy.

  • The Scavengers: While they have their own name for themselves, the Scavengers are a group that has taken up residence in underground facilities and scavenged the meat of the monsters. Their leader believes that to eat a thing is to gain its power, and the monsters are powerful indeed...

Name: Nathan Banks

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Appearance: Nathan is of about average height, with short black hair and glasses. He look fairly unkempt mostly due to the fact that he has been much more concerned with the alien horrors swarming around the building than with looking presentable.

Skills and Abilities: Nathan has few practical skills beyond being able to think quickly under pressure and a generally keen mind. Physical skills are not noteworthy either in their quality or lack thereof.

Gear and Belongings: Nathan brought a small pocket knife, a few notebooks and pencils, and a flashlight with him to the academy. He has also managed to acquire a small stash of food and water from the cafeteria.

Personality: Nathan is at his core cold and aloof, and seldom seems to be paying full attention when in a social situation. He is quite abrasive at times, a fact that does not win him many friends. This demeanor never crosses over into full-on callousness however, and he occasionally proves to be quite a conscientious individual.

Backstory: Nathan grew up in a small nondescript town in the Midwestern region of the United States. From an early age he proved to be a fairly bright child, and was one of the top students at his school. As Nathan grew older, he became increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of his education (a sentiment that was partially justified but mostly fueled by his own insecurities), hoping to be able to transfer to a school that he perceived to be of a higher caliber. unfortunately for Nathan, his parents were not particularly well off financially and his hopes seemed largely futile until he received word of Seido Academy, applying and being accepted about a year ago. He led a fairly uneventful life as a student doing well academically but making little effort to associate with his fellow pupils.. During the current events he has holed himself up in a classroom venturing out only when he needs to gather supplies.

  • Name: Ayako Ayanami (w/ Western naming order)
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Here she is. She sometimes wear glasses when she needs to look at things very closely, and is usually sitting in a wheelchair.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Due to Ayako having a natural talent for biochemistry, she was well on her way to becoming a doctor with that as her specialty, but she can also perform other medical and scientific procedures in line with that as well. Due to the rigorous curriculum at Seido Academy and her own determination to develop a cure for the nerve disorder that has resulted in her paraplegia, she was able to reach a formidable level of skill.
    • Ayako also dabbled in tinkering with electronics and machinery since she didn't have anything better to do with her time, being unable to participate in most school activities properly. She finds working with electronics and machines comparable to working on a human body, except that parts are replaceable, so despite some telling her that this is an unladylike hobby, she has persisted.
    • There was only one sport available to Ayako that didn't involve the use of legs in some way, and that was archery. When she wasn't studying, she was usually found at the school's archery range practicing her shooting, which eventually allowed herself to elevate herself to the status of co-captain of the club due to her dedication. This has also given her some degree of surprising upper-body strength because of the strain involved in drawing a bowstring correctly.
    • Oddly enough, due to having to push herself around on a wheelchair for the majority of her time at Seido Academy, she's become quite knowledgeable about the Academy's shortcuts and back entrances, as she could not use the stairs that function as the normal paths for students. This could come in handy during supply runs and scouting, even if she can't go on the missions herself.
  • Gear & Belongings: Ayako usually rides around with an ordinary wheelchair, with her backpack slung over the back and her bow hung on one of its handles. Her room in the dormitories contain most of her personal effects including a chemistry set and some electronics tinkering equipment. A lot of the textbooks that she has are about medicine and math. She still has the pressurized air-powered potato cannon she made once for a science fair.
  • Personality: Ayako is a very solid and dependable girl, and is always willing to extend a hand to those who need help. She is known to be gentle but firm in the face of bullying, presenting a stoic front to everyone that approaches her with malicious intent. As she was about to graduate a year early from Seido academy, she decided to become a role model for many of the underclassmen, so she tries to conduct herself correctly at all times. She once applied for a position on the student council but found traveling to the meeting room too tedious and gave up.
  • Backstory:
    • Ayako was born to a well-to-do family in the wealthy suburbs of Japan, and had a fairly comfortable life from childhood. However, this all changed when a car accident killed her older siblings, after which she received the news that she had a heretofore unknown nerve disorder that would soon render her paraplegic. Overcome by shame at having a physically disabled daughter, her parents would use their connections to get her shipped off to Seido Academy, telling her that it would probably be best for her to move elsewhere to get her mind off of the recent deaths in the family. Ayako, for the most part, took this without complaint, and has capitulated on the special nature of the school to advance her academic career with all due speed. All of her life experiences have lead her to believe in the fleeting transience of life. One can only think carefully and work hard to solve problems, so stoicism and keeping a cool head is important. This unique worldview might save her sanity in the trials to come...
    • Ayako locked herself into the nearest windowless room upon witnessing the horrors crawling outside, which happened to be the school's announcement broadcasting and security room. Subsisting on the snacks and beverages stored in there by some lazy staff members, she has been keeping an eye on the school's surroundings and using the speaker system to distract monsters away from areas she knows survivors are staying. Occasionally she'll communicate with survivors, but there is no real way to physically reach her at the moment, save for launching a rescue mission.
  • Etc: Humanity 100
