As far as i know, no. He just has a really weird blind spot for her from the start. I think it has to do with him having weird ideas in his head about elves, and her being an elf.
He's probably more used to female Anime Elves being big titted and blonde like what Deetlit◊ in Record of Lodoss War popularized.

Watch SymphogearKumo's manga artist praises the vulgarity of Mushoku
Because if this series doesn't generate a 200 comment discourse every week as a result of the author's fetishes being put on display his heart will literally just stop. Also I'm officially tired of Mushoku discourse, though for once it's because of the fans.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysThat guy’s position would be a lot stronger if Mushoku Tensei actually examined the topic of sex with a critical nuance. So far most of the questionable scenes have all been played for laughs, “boys gonna be boys” or inconsequential to the story being told.
Also Rudy isn’t only a pervert, he’s a pedophile. And I still wish the anime played out like the novel regarding that scene with Eris.
You know, speaking of nuance.
The scenes in recent episodes with the prince Roxy is teaching. It feels like the narrative is pretty much saying "this is what a pervert going too far looks like" but the level of Rudy is A-OK. With him getting a slap or something compared to the prince getting incinerated in each appearance when he "goes too far".
I feel like that's kind of indicative of the biggest issues with the show. The baseline of what the author thinks/portrays is acceptable or a charming negative character trait is way higher than it should be when it comes to sex.
I also agree. Paul cheating on Zenith and one or two jokes about them having an active sex life is good and intresting. But there's no way the scene with the 15? year old Roxy was needed.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobRoxy isn't 15. She's closer to Rudeus' mental age, 37 or so I think

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI agree with whiskey. It's getting kind of exhausting how people are mixing up "sex positivity" with "casual/rampant sexual assault".
Don't tell me she is that trope of "well she is actually 30/60/10000 in elf/dragon/random fantasy creature age". Way before I watched this show, I always thought of it as b.s, like authors wanting to play out their fetish without much scrutiny/judgement. From what I've seen of this show, I wouldn't be surprised...
Cowboys vs SamuraiApparently Roxy is exactly that. Some sort of humanoid species that ages more slowly.
All in all I’m looking forward to next episode where hopefully the magical nuke will have forced Rudy to think more about survival than his fetishes.
What the heck, are there people actually saying this show is sex-positive? Whaaat.

Some people think "horniness is natural" so there's nothing wrong with all the characters being hooked on it. This doesn't really take into the account that too much of a "good" thing can still be an issue and what Rudy is doing is sexual assault even if you want to pretend he's a just a child. Another alternative is "Well medieval times" which is it's own brand of nonsense based of pop culture understanding of the time period.
As for Roxy, yes she falls under the trope, the two "children" in the pv I linked that look like her actually her parents. Sylphie is also part of a long lived race, but she'll at least stop aging at around early 20s rather than 15 or thereabout
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysEp 9:
Hitogami and Ruijerd appear. The CGI use for Hitogami was not only really good looking, but it gave him that otherwordly vibe. And the art change when Ruijerd got angry about Laplace was bone chilling. Also:
Rudeus: "May I call you Father in law?"
Roxy Dad: "No."
Also, to put in perspective how far away Rudy and eris are from home, Here's a world map.

Watch SymphogearCongratulations Papa Roxy and Rujierd, for being the least horny and consequently most likeable male characters in the show so far. Rujierd especially is pretty cute, he's kind of stand offish but you can tell he's just really awkward after years of solitude and his patience makes him a good match with types like Eris. Though his personality is kind of similar to Ghislaine, so I can understand why she was removed from the story during this portion.
Them going out of their way to speak fantasy language even if it's just gibberish is a nice touch. Hitogami is obnoxious and creepy and even if he gives good advise I don't trust him. He's too overly familiar

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysSeemed kind of weird to have a dream sequence that basically told Rudy to do... exactly what he probably would have done anyway, not like he'd have had any choice but to try talking to the demon that wasn't doing anything to them.
But yeah, this was a really good episode, it's nice not to have to put a massive asterisk next to that statement.
It's probably more about building trust than anything. It gives of the impression that he made sure they just happened to land near the powerful child loving Superd
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI like Ruijerd's character so far, his goal seems pretty interesting. Although I think the subs might have been a bit inaccurate when he says at the beginning he wants to help them because "Abandoning you here would damage the Superd tribe's reputation". Because that doesn't really make sense when his motivations later in the episode are revealed to be rehabilitating their image.
I didn't consider that the Man-God made sure he was near where Rudy and Eris landed. I really dislike his presence though, I think its pretty annoying that at its face value the scene does nothing but show the Gods are interested in Rudy because he's super special and tell him the correct choice that he'd have probably taken anyway. I guess the internal image is important? But that could have been done with a regular dream.
Eris being so excited about the world was great though. I really like what's been setup for the immediate future at this point. Travelling though a fantasy world with a end goal and learning about new places is just an inherent interesting setup.
And I like how Ruijerd kind of takes over the role of Ghislaine with limitations. So with the limit on entering cities/other people seeing him with them, it provides lots of ways Rudy & Eris can be tested on the journey back home.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobWhat?!? An episode where Rudy keeps his thoughts and hands to himself.. Is this real?
Hopefully the above keeps happening as the plot transfers to the good old fashioned "cross extremely deadly wasteland killing monsters and having bonding time as you try not to die" genre of fantasy. Very little to do wrong here, it is literally just some cool monster hunting with tears of joys after not dying (preferably with Rudy not being Rudy). That's not so hard, is it?
The fact that the village they stopped was Roxy's felt... forced/tacked on I guess? Apart from learning about the age nonsense and that she has come home since, it being her village didn't feel so important and we didn't learn anything of note.
Oh and Rudy has been visited by a God, that means he is Super-Special™ and you know the fate of the world is probably going to involve him one way or the other
Cowboys vs SamuraiY'all should probably not jump into conclusions about Hitogami or what interest he has towards Rudeus.
Rudy being special was also always going to be a thing because I kind of doubt the average person reincarnated from another world into the body of child. Now it just adds some more questions on to why and how this is happening considering Hitogami went out of his way to clarify it wasn't even him that brought him over.

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysOh heck yes, we’re going on a proper fantasy adventure now, boys and girls. This is the good stuff. I hope we get some proper monster-hunting next time.
Not sure what to think about the Human God sequence. It’s a bit forced, and they went out of their way to make him seem sketchy. Also agree with it was rather convenient that Rudy ended up at Roxy’s hometown, and even then they didn’t do much with that plot point. The father-in-law joke was spot on, though.
On the other hand Rujierd is a cool guy. He’s the coolest guy in the show. Tragic backstory, likes children, badass spear wielder, doesn’t think with his dick, hilarious meme face, this Superd’s the man. His being a social outcast will no doubt be a source of conflict in future episodes. Speaking of tragic backstory, seems like this Laplace fellow might have something to do with the floating thingy that teleported them, or he might be the Demon Lord equivalent in this setting.
Totally vibed with Eris being excited about being a dangerous new place with big monsters and carnivorous plants and turtleshell houses.
Rudeus also displays some character growth, which is nice. Again, excited for their adventure. Eris has a sword, Rudy is a beast with magic, and Rujierd is their super safety net. Should be fun!
Also another show of apprection for the studio making the effort to speak a different tongue for the Demon Language. That’s always a neat touch.
Kinda surprised Geoff defended the series so much, considering he's more then willing to go to town with trashy isekai.
Fine by me, though.
Watch SymphogearTalk about yer plot twists!
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysIt makes sense to me. Mokusho is trash in what it shows (IE a pedo protagonist and generally awful people, even the ones we're supposed to root for) but it's both well made and intentionally written to be this way. It's not like his trash pile which is basically awful because it can be, or awful because it was so poorly made. Like "the dungeon only i can enter" is intentionally a bad excuse plot, but Mokusho has too much effort into addressing people being awful and such to fit the same bill.
I mean I can grant that, even though I don't like Mushoku Tensei, it has more effort and talent put into it than stuff like Goblin Slayer
Goblin Slayer is a really cool D&D series which for some reason decides that goblin rape is where it's really at.
^Goblin slayer is also series that does the extremely painful "Non Prayer Character" pun.
Like I think its writer likes Berserk without understanding Berserk and doesn't get that if they want to write cheesy and fun D&D romp, they can't really mix it with extremely dark stuff
Reading ahead in the novels and I have to ask. Does Sylphie has some hidden skill or something that turns Rudeus's perception to utter shit? I mean he's not the greatest at the best of times but he has this weird blind spot that only applies to her. (Yes, I am at the Magic University).
